I found ndiswrapper package on my installation CD.
(and also ndisgtk)
I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 within windows.
I used Synaptic Manager to install ndiswrapper and ndisgtk.
Since I am running a HP Pavillion dv6000, and it is
running windows, the driver must be under c:\windows\drivers.
Right? When I could not identify it, I used driver robot
to tell me what it was. Driver robot said it was
Realteck RTL8187B. On the other hand, "ipconfig /all"
says it is Broadcom 801.11b/g. Searching the hard drive
for ^bcm finds bcmwl6.inf I thought this would be it,
but ndisgtk says it is not a driver.

There exists a table of wireless devices. That table would
help if you know your correct device number. Is there some
dos command to tell you what device you have? Is there some
linux command to tell you what device you have?
Thank you,
Charles
