Subject: Lost KPE splash screen and icons
I installed a desktop "theme" which replaced the kde splash screen and icons
that I get when I log in.  How can I get them back?

Thanks!
John

Method #1:
$ rm -r $KDEHOME/share/apps/ksplash/
This should replace the splash with the default one at next KDE startup.

Method #2:
Head to kde-look.org, and search for a program called ksplashmanager.
This program allows you to easily switch splash screens and activate new
ones you downloaded from somewhere. It does nothing else but overwrite
the files in $KDEHOME/share/apps/ksplash/ with the files from its theme
collection. As far as I know, it's easy and safe.

Good luck!
