In general, the best charities are small ones in your own home town that you
can check up on and help out with money and/or your time. The bigger the
charity, in general, the greater the percentage of its income goes to
operating expenses and saleries, and the less goes to helping those who need
it. I always give to the little ones, and, when I am in town, I stop in and
say, "hi", and check up on how things are going.....
