This week, the US government has ruled that Haliburton is liable for the
actions of its employees who commit crimes on behalf of the company.
The subject case involves a woman who was gang raped by several members of
the mercenary outfit.
Thinking that she had been hired to do legitimate work, once in Iraq the
Republicans locked her in a shipping container and pressed her into sexual
slavery.

Because the crimes happened in Iraq, and the Republicans had killed,
captures or driven off all the judges and cops, she was unable to press any
criminal charges there.
And because the US has no legal jurisdiction to prosecute crimes in Iraq -
she was prevented from pressing criminal charges here.
As a last resort, the rape victim sued in civil court in the US and won a
multi-million dollar judgment against the Republican corporation.

In the trial, Halliburton claimed that they were members of the US military,
and thus could not be sued.
When that failed, they claimed that they were not even Americans - and thus
not subject to US law.

Unfortunately for the Republicans, the US government ruled against them on
both counts.
