Truck rams Chicago train station, killing 2
21 injured, many in critical condition after rush-hour crash
updated 10 minutes ago

CHICAGO - A tractor trailer that witnesses said didn't seem to slow down
rammed into a crowded bus shelter and a Chicago Transit Authority train
station during the evening rush hour Friday, killing two people and
injuring more than a dozen others.

Witnesses said the truck didn't appear to slow down before ramming into the
station's stairwell.

"Right now this is just a tragic traffic accident," said Chicago Police
Department Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson.

The truck's driver was treated at an area a hospital and released Friday
night. Police led him from the hospital in handcuffs, but he was not under
arrest and had not been charged with anything as of Friday evening, police
spokesman John Mirabelli said.

"We are talking to the driver, that is the extent of it to this time,"
Mirabelli said.

How can they release this killer?. He either did it on purpose which means
murder or it was negligence and that means manslaughter. !!

Let's examine it using your angle, shall we? This should be fun. :^D

According to the article, it was the hospital, not the police, who
released him. Does that mean he was too drunk to be injured? I'm
sure you'd bet on that.

The police are still talking to him...their job isn't done yet, so
don't give up on the case.

Third possibility: incompetence (aka GPSTroll Award contender)...still
could be manslaughter.

It'll be interesting how the case pans out.
