Driver Sentenced in Nevada's Worst Drunk Driving Case
Updated: May 2, 2008 06:57 PM
Ronald Jayne, Jr. learned Friday that he will be spending a minimum of 15
years to a maximum of 45 years behind bars for a drunk driving accident
that killed five members of a family. Restitution is more than $200,000.
Jayne Jr. spoke, addressing the family and was crying the whole time asking
for forgiveness. He was 19 years old at the time of the deadly car crash at
Tenaya and Farm Road in May of 2007.
The five victims killed were family members. Katherine Luna was just 7
months old. Itzelic Sevilla was 2 years old. Fernando Dominguez, 9, was
killed along with his mother. Gustavo Dominguez Sevilla who was 13 years
old also died and 32-year-old Claudia Dominguez, the driver, lost her life.
Sandy Heverly, the executive director of STOP DUI, says he has remained in
close contact with the Dominguez family and she asked the judge to give
Jayne the maximum. In a letter to Judge David Wall, she wrote:
"We've been told his "age" may be a factor that could be considered for a
more lenient sentence. Our victims are just as dead whether the perpetrator
is nineteen or ninety-six. Please consider he took 300 potential years of
life from his victims!"

I realize the dead are just mexicans but i still think he deserved life wo
parole. At least he got a significant penalty. If he'd been rich he'd have
never served a day for this vehicular murder - like laura bush.
