Traffic School for Reno, NV speeding ticket

I got a speeding ticket for 75 in a 65 zone just outside of Reno
Nevada on my way home to the SF Bay Area in California, 5 hours away.
The cop said that I could probably attend traffic school in CA and
transfer the credit to Nevada. Or, I found an online traffic school
that is approved in Washoe county where I got the ticket. But I can't
figure out any way to get permission from the court for the traffic
school without driving out there (10+ hours roundtrip).

I called the court at the number on my ticket, and they said that the
only way they grant traffic school is on the court date, in front of a
judge; they say there is no way of getting traffic school by mail.
They said that 3 of their 5 judges don't offer traffic school at all,
so my chances wouldn't be good even if I did drive out to request
traffic school. I also tried calling my local court asking if they
could transfer my traffic school credit to Nevada and they acted as if
I was crazy. They said they don't do traffic school transfers to
other jurisdictions.

Any ideas if there is some special incantation that I can mail, fax,
or phone to the court to try and get permission to do traffic school?
