Click on the name of the person who "spammed" you.
When their profile appears, a button will appear that allows you to
report the abuse.
Cite in your comments the specific thread that the abuse happened. It
will be reviewed.
To immediately return to the original topic, go back to the FIRST
message in the thread and hit "Reply" The software will immediately
defer back to the original topic title. Then, if you have nothing to
say, just hit "send". You will have immediately flipped the topic
back.
I have reported 9 abuses by "spammer", who of course is SERebel
because his profile lists his email address. DUH. I have reported 12
abuses by SERebel so far, but it is important that anyone who keeps
dealing with this slimeball keep hitting the abuse button.

I agree that the subject shouldn't be changed to spam, but there is no
reason to go back and repost the same article to the thread again. The
original post is still posted under the original title.
If you read on google groups, when you do as you suggest all the reader
gets is a link that says <show quoted text>. In a newsreader such as the
one I use, a new thread is started when the subject line is changed, so
I have no idea what original message has been marked spam, all I see is
a subject "Spam" and sometimes some message content such as "s" but I
have no idea what the original thread even was. But when you do as you
suggest to change the thread title back, I get the original articles
quoted over and over! Then come a series of new unconnected threads
called spam. It's annoying. Neither the spam markers nor the re-posters
are making any friends or doing anything useful.
The original post still exists under the original thread subject in the
archives. Reposting over and over is a waste of space and marking it as
spam misses the point since it isn't clear what is being marked as spam
but it is clearly just a personal attack on the messenger and not the
message.
BTW,the abuse button is only for google groups, not every one reads or
posts through google groups. I too have made some spam complaints,
against you for reposting the same articles over and over.

Keep hitting the abuse button. Who are you to "accept" anything?

Er, fat slob Minarik, check the header, still have AOL.
You really should stop giving legal advise, you know nothing about the
constitution.
Nope, not a bit. I don't need you for my moral compass either. Hey,
keep pressing the abuse button, you must love the flushing sound.

And you like to take those freedoms with full identity disclosure. I
just can't believe that a professional would write such dirty insulting
things as you do and not worry about your professional reputation.
I think you're not really an optometrist and stole Kenneth Minarik's
identity. Perhaps you've been living as him for so many years, you think
you actually are him.
The Google abuse button is also for vulgar posts and for false and
misleading messages. I think you qualify to be reported for both things.

Ragnar, Rebel and Scotty-boy are the trailer trash of this newsgroup,
and every once in a while even a medical professional needs to go out
and clean up the dumpster behind his office.

You are not a medical professional, you clean the toilets at Northen
Illinois Optical.
Yes, they can be bullies, but your foul language and imagery is without
equal (except for Grant Mason who no longer posts here). I guess what I
don't understand is this need to "clean" up a space in which you are not
required to be. If you never read this newsgroup, never entered this
space, then there would be nothing compelling you to "clean" up and no
reason for you to debase yourself and your professional stature in the
eyes of people who may be tuning in for the first (or even the 1000th)
time.
Anyway, they bully you, or at it appears they bully you, because they
can and you always rise to the occasion. A bully can't be a bully
without a willing victim. Walk away.

Oh, leave the poor man alone. Then maybe you'd slither away :)

No, and I'll post as I see fit.
"Ragnar, Rebel and Scotty-boy are the trailer trash of this

Glenn claims to have earned a high school diploma as his highest
degree and claims also that this qualifies him to certify surgeons. If
Ragnar, serebel and Scott are TRAILER TRASH....
Why would you drag Glenn into this scrum? Are you that sexually
obsessed with him?
