If you take the time to post something here, you should be awarded
with the dignity and common decency that no one changes your thread.
If you post a topic and it is changed to "spam" you should do the
following:

Click on the name of the person who "spammed" you.
When their profile appears, a button will appear that allows you to
report the abuse.
Cite in your comments the specific thread that the abuse happened. It
will be reviewed.

To immediately return to the original topic, go back to the FIRST
message in the thread and hit "Reply" The software will immediately
defer back to the original topic title. Then, if you have nothing to
say, just hit "send". You will have immediately flipped the topic
back.

I have reported 9 abuses by "spammer", who of course is SERebel
because his profile lists his email address. DUH. I have reported 12
abuses by SERebel so far, but it is important that anyone who keeps
dealing with this slimeball keep hitting the abuse button.

of course this only applies to Google Groups and will in fact change
nothing... but hey if you feel better by doing it... go right ahead.

I agree that the subject shouldn't be changed to spam, but there is no
reason to go back and repost the same article to the thread again. The
original post is still posted under the original title.

If you read on google groups, when you do as you suggest all the reader
gets is a link that says <show quoted text>. In a newsreader such as the
one I use, a new thread is started when the subject line is changed, so
I have no idea what original message has been marked spam, all I see is
a subject "Spam" and sometimes some message content such as "s" but I
have no idea what the original thread even was. But when you do as you
suggest to change the thread title back, I get the original articles
quoted over and over! Then come a series of new unconnected threads
called spam. It's annoying. Neither the spam markers nor the re-posters
are making any friends or doing anything useful.

The original post still exists under the original thread subject in the
archives. Reposting over and over is a waste of space and marking it as
spam misses the point since it isn't clear what is being marked as spam
but it is clearly just a personal attack on the messenger and not the
message.

BTW,the abuse button is only for google groups, not every one reads or
posts through google groups. I too have made some spam complaints,
against you for reposting the same articles over and over.

Thanks for the tip on reporting serebel, AKA spammer. I will report
him as a spammer everytime I see him change a topic to spam. If we all
pitch in, hopefully the google groups abuse crew will pull the plug on
him.

Pretty lame admission of guilt, there, Scotty boy...but I'll accept it
anyway. Glad to see that you are researching the ramifications of
your actions. No one can claim ignorance or innocence when they have
researched their own offenses.
Keep digging, and you might find out enough about yourself to be as
disgusted as we are.

Personal freedoms are very important. When malicious acts are hidden
under the guise of personal liberty, then even the most liberal
interpretation of the law is that no one has the "right" to defame
someone. The First Amendment was designed to allow SERebel to
continue to engage in bestiality with Scotty-boy on a regular basis.
No matter how much fun THEY are having, the First Amendment protects
ME from having to watch Scotty's little eyes roll back into his head
while they are doing it. There is no First Amendment right to cry
"FIRE!" in a crowded theater, and there is no First Amendment right to
alter other people's writings and postings because you enjoy pissing
them off.

And you like to take those freedoms with full identity disclosure. I
just can't believe that a professional would write such dirty insulting
things as you do and not worry about your professional reputation.

I think you're not really an optometrist and stole Kenneth Minarik's
identity. Perhaps you've been living as him for so many years, you think
you actually are him.

The Google abuse button is also for vulgar posts and for false and
misleading messages. I think you qualify to be reported for both things.

Respectful individuals earn respectful treatment. Rags, Rebel and

bully. The only way to handle a bully in the school yard is to
"communicate" with him on his level. When your posts are reviewed,
