The ICARE is a single piece injectable lens with an optical diameter of
5.75mm and an overall length of 12mm to 13.5mm. It can correct
refractive errors from -20 D to
+10 D in increments of 0.25 D. The hydrophilic acrylic material of the
lens has a UV filter and a refractive index of 1.465.
Ragnar said incorrect and dangerous misinformation to Mike, a -15 or
-17 myope!
You are -17?
That is rare. Lasik could only correct -14 of that. You might need
both lasik and IOLs to correct that... or relieve you from coke bottle
thick glasses by having lasik or iols with glasses.
If you are -17.. you have very severe myopia.. and probably have
considerable astigmatism.. and you are a big risk for a detacted
retina.
In your case, only have ONE EYE operated on at a time
Then he said:
-17 is a disaster. Glasses alone are out because of minfication,
LASIK alone is out because of the -14 limit. Soft contacts are out
because they don't come close to -17. RGPs nor any contact or IOL
alone is likely to treat -17
A combination of corrections is needed.
My comments: Why did Ragnar mention lasik if he later contridicts
himself and says lasik is out? By the way, he is wrong about the -14
limit, its more like -8 to -10 now, above that, surgeons will consider
IOLs instead. Ragnar is also half wrong about glasses. It is very
possible to tolerate glasses at -17, in fact I know several myopes -12
and higher who wear glasses. Even with minification, most of them still
achieve fairly good vision, losing only one or two lines over what they
achieve with (RGP) contacts. One guy said he was 20/40 with -17
glasses, 20/25 with RGP contacts. He *did* consider IOLs but decided
its too risky and isnt willing to accept the risk. He will wait till
cateracts develop many years from now then have no choice but get IOLs
which kill two birds with one stone, both remove cateracts and correct
his -17 super high myopia.
He does NOT need both lasik and IOLs when IOLs can correct -20
diopters! He does NOT need cokebottle glasses. Mike wears RGP contacts
that correct him fully. RGP contacts can correct virtually any
prescription, except maybe that 1 in 1,000,000 person with such a high
prescription that he would be nearly blind anyway. I read a text case
of a lady with such high myopia, she had -32 RGP contacts! Thats about
the limit of what contacts can correct. Glasses can correct much higher
than that, in fact I read that only *one* guy(probably a world record)
had such high myopia that he could not be fully corrected with
glasses(he could a few years ago till his myopia got even worse!) It
didnt matter as he was nearly blind *with* glasses and needed a crane
and eye seeing dog. I will not mention more, not mention his
prescription or go into details as its scary how high his myopia was!
Optometrists shudder when they see that -15 person!
Ragnar is very wrong when he says "Soft contacts are out
because they don't come close to -17. RGPs nor any contact or IOL
alone is likely to treat -17"
The limit of what the following can treat:
IOLs = +10 to -20
RGP contacts = +20 to -32
soft contacts(custom) = +20 to -25
soft contacts(commercial) = +8 to -12
Glasses = Only one guy in the world exceeded its limit!
In Ragnar's defense, he is right about one thing, commerically
available major brand soft contacts have a limit of -10 or -12
depending on the brand. Theres one small brand that corrects to -16.
Past -12, you can get a special order for custom contacts from a
company that will custom make it just for you. Wont be cheap though.
You can also go RGP. Some people get -12 commerical contacts and thin
glasses to correct the remainder and they take off their glasses for
near work, thereby avoiding readers! I know one lady who was so myopic,
she needed -12 contacts and -3 glasses over them. She didnt mind this
setup because she just took her glasses off for reading and eating and
other near work. She liked that brand of contacts too. She does have
very thick glasses that fully corrects her which she doesnt wear too
often.
Shall I point out your mistakes more vigorously?
I think you will find that anybody who has a problem with me is a
malcontent mental case.
You are doing a great job for me Ace. I used to get emails saying
that you are a nice guy and I should not pick on you since you are
just naive. Now those same people realize that you are an idiot,
liar, and a chronic pest.
Yep, people do know what a retard Ace is.
> Spoken like the two complete arrogant greedy assholes you are.
Thank you for your gracious support.
> At least he's a decent caring person.
Why no, he is a well known internet retard.
> Why don't you two snakes crawl back under your rock.
At least we can see our rocks without glasses.
John Wayne Gacy was considered to be a decent caring person also...
when he wasn't snapping the necks of young men while raping them and
burying them in concrete in his basement. Mr. Gacy was a fine artist
and great at parties dressed up as a clown. He was a favorite with
politicians and even had his photograph taken with a couple of
presidents.
I don't have a whole lot of tolerance for ignorant people who
intentionally, maliciously, and continuously try to decieve innocent
people. In some countries, people like Keller, Burch.. and yet.. Ace,
would be either imprisoned for life or shot. In China, they would be
shot and their family would be billed for the price of the bullet
(this is actually true!)

How much do you want to bet, Ragnar?
Your mommy wouldn't appreciate wgaering with her money retard.
It is amusing that people who have no money are usually the people who
are most willing to bet it... which has something to do with why they
don't have any money....
I am not a betting man, I only bet wagers I know I can and do win. Ive
been to casinos and I didnt gamble a dime. I know you wont admit your
mistake about contacts or anything for the matter. Keep your denial
that way. We know you are wrong in your claims and you dont care.
Here's an internet course for you retard: English as a second
language.
