Subject says it all!!!
Oh, and I finally found something that Santa can bring me:
I think it was about a year ago that I may have posted something
about those wacky Japanese that had invented a system for
raster scanning in thin air, by colliding two yag beams at points
in space. I even scanned some photo's from a mag article, but
even to me it looked kinda hokey...
WELL! Was I ever wrong!! Was watching National Geographic
last night and they had on a show called "Naked Science,
Secret World of Fireworks".. The usual stuff, but at about 2/3rds
through the show, they shift over to Japan where they show one
heck of a cool demo of this same system, and it's pretty mind
blowing!! At first, it looks like they are just drawing fairly low
rez, low speed raster graphics up on the ceiling of their lab..
Then, as the camera moves around, and as the images change,
you suddenly see that these things are in 3D, and they have them
cruising all over the lab in mid air!! And in full room lighting!!
Lot's of high power going on, and you can hear the q-switches
winding out pretty good, but still, very, very COOL!!!

Here's the info on that show, and it will be airing again on
Dec. 31st, 7am Pacific. I'll include the links to the show info,
and you can also set a reminder there to let you know when
it will be on. Also, I did capture this segment to video, just
don't have anywhere to post it right now. If anyone is interested
in it, lemme know.

Again, Happy and Safe Holidays to you and your families,
and of course all of your goodies and lasers!!!

Well, it's about 39meg, in it's current 720x480 NTSC mpeg2 format,
should make it through most email systems (maybe), I could scrunch
it down, but some detail would be lost..
Anyway, if you want me to try email, leave something hear in the
usual munged up form and I'll take a crack at it..

Sounds interesting. No chance if upload to a usenet binary group? Some don't
care what gets sent there, so we'd just have to know which one..

Normally, yeah, but I'm temp on shaw's server right now and I think
binaries are kinda a hit/miss situation.. Maybe later on this weekend
I'll try and stick it on one of my throwaway web accounts for a few
days. They have a insanely small limit on file sizes for personal
accounts... grrrr. Maybe a bit of shrink down will help...
I'll post a URL if/when I get it posted..

And if you are OK with it, I'll post it on my website for others
to view more easily.

I was going to say the same... (unless NG has something to say about
it;) I've got plenty of bandwidth to spare, my site is an empty canvas
these days (a chilly vacuum ..)
Cheers

Perhaps your mail server has a cap, or has exceeded your limits? Doug
mentioned he would upload it to

(orrrr....maybe it got too excited traveling across the pond and
collided with an iceberg? :)
Cheers

Thanks. Not sure if I have a cap. I mean, it's my own website
host's email server, not some funky ISP email address.
