It gives me great pleasure to announce the launching of my dear
friend Amjad Islam Amjad sahib’s official website,
amjadislamamjad.net.

Everyone associated with this project has worked strictly on volunteer
basis. Along the way, we have been discussing the details on regular
basis with Amjad sahib, and his son Ali Zeeshan.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my friend Zarqa Mufti
sahiba, who has worked on the site pretty much single handedly for the
past few months. I can honestly say that it would not have been
possible for us to launch the site without her help.

I had been thinking about making this site for a while, and discussed
the idea in detail with Amjad sahib during his US visit last year.
Special thanks to my friend Faheem sahib, for helping with the
business matters including getting the domain name, finding the web
host, etc.

Most of the published material, including pictures, has been
graciously provided by Amjad sahib’s book publisher in Lahore, Mr.
Fawaz Niyaaz. The personal information/ biodata has been provided by
Ali Zeeshan.

I would also like to thank my friends from Mehfil-e-SuKhan, for
creating beautiful images of Amjad sahib’s poetry. Zarqa sahiba, Nadia
(chaandni), Sadia, Shabemah, Zia, annchal sahiba and many other
friends helped with the images. My sincere thanks to Asad for typing
most of the Roman poetry. In addition, Rehan, Ovais, Atif Mirza sahib,
and MM Mughal sahib have also helped me with various matters along the
way.

I do realize that we still need to fine tune the details. It is work
in progress, we will be making additions/changes to the site on
continuous basis.

By now, you have probably realized that I can use all the help I can
get! Please feel free to email me if you have any comments/
suggestions, or would like to volunteer to add more Roman/Urdu poetry
and images.

Hello Anila,

Welcome to Alup! :)

Thanks a lot for checking out the website and liking it. It is an
ongoing project and we will be updating/modifying it periodically, I
do realize we still need to fine tune some details.

I will talk to Amjad sahib and ask him which email address to give
you, he has more than one. However, Amjad sahib himself does not work
on computers, he does not even type. His son Ali Zeeshan checks his
email and you may get a reply from Ali.

I have a few scanned pictures of Amjad Sahib Parween Shakir Sahiba and Ali Sardar Jafar Sahib when they visited Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1984 and if he is interested I can e-mail them to him. Kindly let me know the e mail address to mail it to him. Amjad Sahib and Parween Shakir Sahiba stayed with us for a few days. Kindly convey Our Salams to him.
