SOLID UNDERSTANDING
pandora

wood floors are practical
easy to care for and to keep clean
so what if felt feet must be attached
to all furniture touching the wood
and no shoes allowed just to be safe
it is a small inconvenience
and there is no vacuuming needed
and no carpet cleaning drudgery
just a quick swipe now and then with a mop or broom
and once a month
washed with mop and water
not particularly backbreaking
an allergy sufferer's dream
floors that really are clean
small rugs here and there for color
and contrast
what fool would even want carpets wall to wall
wood floors add to the value of a home
and oh the beauty of gleaming wood
shining in the sunlight
akin to the glory of a Spring day
wood is basic and natural
a renewable resource
it feels good under one's feet
solid, cool in summer
taking on warmth in the winter
I, a daughter of a woodsman
would have nothing else
a fitting addition to the house
his money bought
