Hi,

I have just compiled slrn against the latest s-lang:

Slrn 0.9.8.1pl2.1 [2005-02-17]
* Note: This version is a developer preview.
S-Lang Library Version: 2.1.1
Compiled at: Jul 28 2007 08:14:13
Operating System: Linux

COMPILE TIME OPTIONS:
Backends: +nntp -slrnpull -spool
External programs / libs: -canlock -inews -ssl -uudeview
Features: +charset_mapping +decoding +emphasized_text +end_of_thread
+fake_refs +gen_msgid -grouplens -msgid_cache +piping +rnlock
+slang
+spoilers -strict_from
DEFAULTS:
Default server object: nntp
Default posting mechanism: nntp
PATCHES:
usascii_override
fallback_charset

and can I say my immediate impression was one of cleaner and faster
operation of slrn.

I was wondering if this was because:

1. I have moved for the first time from the Ubuntu Dapper Drake
repository version of s-lang 2 to a 'vanilla' install from

ftp://space.mit.edu/pub/davis/slang/v2.1/slang-2.1.1.tar.gz?

2. The newer version is markedly faster with slrn than previous
versions?

3. I have an over-active imagination?

Whichever way I am very happy with the end results :-)

Andrew
