May the evolution of the heart's desire propagate the computer

Hi, My name is Jacques, and I'm looking at 1.8 Other Materials You Will Need in the www.plantation-productions.com/Webster/ book, Art of Assembly.

A 32-bit linker; MS-Link; (LINK)

I need this LINK thing, and I'm hoping someone will help me out by recognizing this communication with the perception of what it is I require so I will be oriented towards the understandings that enlighten me.

Please enlighten me regarding 1.8 of the Art of Assembly book.

May the machine code update according to the heart's desire upon the google groups computer server

I'm surprised (or maybe impressed) you didn't pun with "Your missing link is
here:" before that URL.

I hope it *is* there! There's some reference to Pelle's polink! Has MS
pulled the plug on link.exe? That would change the landscape! I don't
think that could be true - must come with Visual Studio, no? There are
plenty of other linkers that will do the job, but may not work
"automatically" with HLA. Well... it can be worked around...

Best,
Frank

I think LINK.EXE is still in use. We use the MS tool chain at work and I
think I'm still dealing with LINK errors from time to time.

The "Express" (free) version of Visual C++ can be downloaded here:

http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/products/visual-studio-express-products

There are both 2012 and 2010 tools choices there. The OP may want the older
ones to get a LINK.EXE that's command line compatible with HLA.

I'm using Digital Mars (free http://www.digitalmars.com/) at home, and it's
got a LINK.EXE, but I don't know if it's command line arguments would work
with HLA.

Frank,

M.S. is still cranking out their assembler and linkers, ml.exe and link.exe.

I am using version 10.0, Hutch's package uses 6.14.
