Is there any landscape architects who would like to talk about pieces of
work or just a general chat about landscape architecture and urban spaces

Sure..

By the way, Do you know James Sinatra? Last I knew of, he disappeared to
"the land down under" to teach LA at Melbourne. I knew him when....

Did he not move over to UWA? Or am I confused. When I was in Perth, I
heard his name often (at Iowa State as well, come to think about it).

I'm not sure where he went, actually. I knew him at Iowa State in 1978-80.
I graduated '81. Were you there also?

I graduated in '94. I attended UWA for a semester in the summer of '93. I
believe that he was head of the program there for a time being...(my memory
is a little fuzzy with names & places sometimes).

Please talk about pieces of work or chat about landscape architecture and
urban spaces or anything related to LA. We need more content.

Thank you for your concern. James Sinatra is a well known landscape
architecture educator (design emphasis) and lecturer.

I am not familiar with James Sinatra. What can you tell us about him?

A wild and crazy guy.. always looking for a new idea.

He used to have an obsession with the cliche pink flamingos yard ornaments.
It was sort of a standing joke in the LA department at Iowa State for a
while. He had a couple that he carried around in the bed of his 1950's pick
up truck. One could find them randomly placed at strategic locations around
campus (ot town) at any given time. Flamingos would show up in student
projects, photo lab class, etc.

He also built an underground house. One of his proposals to landscape it
was to scatter seeds by launching them with a stick of dynamite to
demonstrate biological serendipity. Sadly, the city wouldn't allow him to
do it.

As you might assume, he was a little bit strange, which is a good teaching
technique to get design students to think outside of their box of routines.

He was a visiting guest lecturer at most of the landscape architecture
programs in the country, at one time or another.
