Sascha I Don't Post Any More Segan

Oh, give me a break. Give me a bloody break.
So I just had a horribly traumatic heisman from a girl who I genuinely fell
in love with, and I'm writing to Bear. And he writes back, "Don't post to
akt. Somebody from panix is accusing us of being adult child molesters - "
not quite in those words, but to that effect. Being a former member of
Panix, I decided to take a look.

(For those of you who don't know -- akt was my life this summer. It's
important to me.)

And so I see this nonsense.

Hel-LO! McFLY! First of all, Ruth Ditucci, >you're< not a kid. If you were,
you wouldn't be so freaky about restricting what we can and cannot say to
each other. (Anyone remember Mark Lindsey?) Second of all, this group is
for kids. Not children, kids. Kids are not restricted by age, which makes
all this nonsense irrelevant. We've had kids around here who were 40, and
fit in perfectly -- and no, Ruth Ditucci, I'm not going to tell you who
they are. What this is is a place without parents. It's a safe haven, where
we can get together and discuss our concerns, even and especially concerns
that we >wouldn't< talk to our parents about. Crocker, as far as I can
tell, was offering to help, >as one of us.< Ditucci, as far as I can tell,
is trying to be my mother and my censor. I have a mother, and I think the
rest of the group does, too. We don't need any more.

Show of solidarity, people? >Especially< those who remember Lindsey and
that all-too-similar mess we went through a few months ago?

(For those who don't know, Mark Lindsey was a guy who came online who we
had excellent philosophical chats with. Then, when Amy Brown and I started
a thread about bisexuality, the top of his head came off and he started
threatening to bring on the net.police, a silly concept if I ever heard
one. We restored him to sanity and he became a producing member of the
community...)

Golly, that was my thought, too, when I saw this mess...

I'm with you! Even though I wasn't here for the Lindsey
thing, I am against anyone telling me I can't say what I damn well
please! I am not a "regular" yet (I'm working on it) but I can
honestly say that there is not one person here who is being malicious.
And I think we'd know if they were. (Except for Ms. Imacop)

*sigh* Too bad my brain is fried--maybe I'll say something
interesting tomorrow... :-)

Da, ya smotrel GIF Shawni; yeah, I have a copy. Not knowing what you really
look like, I think it's a really good picture. (And, of course, Kyle scanned
it with all the quality he could... which means blue highlights, on
JPEGview.) Definately worth the disk space.

I hate the positioning of the <ctrl> key on this keyboard; it's not what
I'm used to. RRrrrr.

Aye, I know that tune. I've also heard Ditucci's tune before. From
other people. Gawd help us.

Please don't remind me (but at least he wasn't Dunphy...)

Hmm, Ruth Ditucci is posting from Panix, which is in New York, which
is in th e United States of America, land of the free...maybe she
forgot that or something. Doesn't the American constitution say
something about freedom of speech? So that the alleged laws that she
cites would be invalid anyways? Hmm.... (and in Canada, a bill in
Quebec was passed that started out, "Notwithstanding the Bill of
Rights..." What is this world coming to? I WANT OFF!!!

Since I am in a reflective mood, I have decided that everything is cyclical.
Every year at about this time, someone who thinks that they can impose their
views on all of the Posters at AKT, comes on and proceeds to hold forth. I
think their is something about the open ness of our group that scares the
close-minded out there. Sasha is right, we are kids and the definition of
kid encompasses a hell of alot more than just children.

None of us want to corrupt anybody. we want to express our views, and
pit them against the views of others so that everyone involved can hone their
arguements through use. This is one of the few places on the net where I think
you can truely say what you think, whether its about homosexuality, bisexualitycheese balls or chocolate. The only thing close-minded about akt is its
inability to deal with close minded people.

I sincerely believe that Mr. Crocker was lending an open ear, and a ear
willing to listen without predjudice, and I will defend tooth and nail his
right to do that in this group. We need people like him, because of parents
like you Ms. Ditucci. If I were your son or daughter and I thought that I might
be gay, I certainly wouldn't want to talk to you.

Some how Sascha, I think that is not a part of Ms. Ditucci's net-destiny.
