Anything to help "black out" the story of the betrayal of Lebanon by the
UN, the US, France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc., into the hands of the
mullahs of Iran.
All of which countries and the UN and the UN International Force in
Lebanon (which by guarding the Shi'ite region of Lebanon has freed
over ten thousand Shi'ite fighters to attack the rest of Lebanon) stood by
while Hezbollah built its army in violation of multiple UN Resolutions,
etc., etc., against this day.
And the only people with any guts in Lebanon are the Druze of the Mountain:

But they'll soon be silenced, to a universal sigh of relief, especially at
the UN, and at the White House, and on Washington DC's Capitol Hill, and
most of all by the American "teevee n00z channelz".
So they can all engage in some more OBAMA AND CLINTON TALK.

It's all a ploy to continue mounting gullible support for an attack on Iran.
> So they can all engage in some more OBAMA AND CLINTON TALK.
And that's another ploy to keep your mind off the REAL world news and
the criminal activities of the current corporate sponsored government.
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of
the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to
drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship,
or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the
people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is
easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and
denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country
to greater danger."

How would _suppressing_ news about Hezbollah's rebellion in Lebanon do
that?

The decay of news-content in the "n00z channelz" has been truly remarkable
over the last year and a half, astounding really, capped t'other day when
Hezbollah launched its rebellion and the CNN (IIRC) "host" "reported" on
it by pointing viewers to a couple of web-sites covering Lebanese affairs.
Can't take up precious OBAMA AND CLINTON TALK time with actual reporting
on breaking and disastrous world news, now, can ya?
At least if you're CNN and the like.
Note to CNN: If you ever make it back to what you were previously, which
wasn't all that good to start with, please note that you can't be Oprah
and a news-channel simultaneously, and also leave the sports, weather and
Hollywood drivel to the appropriate specialty channels.
I mean, wouldn't be nice to be an actual news-channel? really?
And less of a fraud?

Look to your own government for that answer, because it's plastered
all over the BBC, the Moscow Times, and NHK Tokyo.
Hezbollah is a political party... tired of a nation with no defenses, a poor
military, and being run over roughshod by Israel. The UN, the EU, and
the USA have abandoned them in a time of need and persecution, so
they're taking the matter into their own hands. It's what the US should
be doing.... taking their country back.

I'd say that's better than what most US media will report. They'll blame
what ever does make the news on Syria and Iran in complete support of
the ongoing US / Israeli agenda to dominate the region.

Sure you can... but the whole political 'thing' is meant to turn you away from
the really important issues of the world and the nation, and to sour people
on Democrat politics, possibly swaying their vote to republican.... also
known as brainwashing or a DIS-information campaign.

Once again, it's the core fault of Fox News Corp that the US Media has
not only gone to pabulum (Britney Spears, Hollywierd, lost babies) in place
of real news over the past 15 years or so, but have completely moved to
outright lies, parroting of the far right wing agenda and propaganda since
2003.
http://www.netfeed.com/~jhill/RupertMurdoch.htm
"Fox argued from the first, and failed on three separate occasions, in front
of three different judges, to have the case tossed out on the grounds there
there is no hard, fast and written rule against deliberate distortion of the news.
The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, argued that the
First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news
reports on the public airwaves."
"On February 14, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal
about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization.
The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation
to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast."
> I mean, wouldn't be nice to be an actual news-channel? really?
The only way a human can make decisions based on news 'reporting' when their
nation is in the throes of a phony "war" and the Pentagon censors the news or
National Security Letters are issued to silence the media, is to garner their news
from as many different sources as possible, most especially foreign sources.
> And less of a fraud?
Lies, opinion and commentary (more opinion), is about all you will get from
the US media since the Corporate Coup D'Etat of 2000.
"America is a quarter of a billion people totally misinformed and
disinformed by their government. This is tragic but our media is -- I
wouldn't even say corrupt -- it's just beyond telling us anything that
the government doesn't want us to know."
-- Gore Vidal
"National Security Letters" (gag orders) silence patriots, courts, media & business
as they pry into America's private side.
