The Cover-up Quilt

Each year it's on Washington's Mall,
And it says on the press release
That numerous folks have been victims
Of cover-ups by the police.

But the event doesn't get reported,
And the reason I have to stress:
The display includes several murders
That are covered up by the press.

Not intellectually honest.

Please notice that although Mr. Trowbridge tells us that he has examined the
evidence and found it wanting, he does not want you to look at it yourself,
using your own eyes and your own gray matter. He 's left the original poem
up, but he quite carefully excised the supporting URL. Nice try, Jerry.

Does he really mean to suggest that there has been no press cover-up in the
Tommy Burkett death or the annual quilt display? Perhaps someone can
produce the Washington Post or the AP stories about them or the Washington
Times story on the FBI Burkett investigation.

With his determined defense of the government here, even going to the
considerable trouble of composing a 12-line, strained-metaphor poem, he
certainly makes me think of #17 at

Out of 13 million deaths from AIDS, 11 million were in Africa. 2 million
scattered around the world. I the US, we know how AIDS can be avoided, so why
are they dragging out that quilt year after year but won't give up the practices
that cause it?

You're talking about the AIDS quilt, and you make a good point about that
one. This posting is about the Cover-up Quilt, and I gave a URL for more
information about it. If you've never heard of it, I'm not surprised. The
point of my poem is that the news media are blacking it out.

I feel like an idiot. I guess I am, time to learn to read again. I guess we can't
have too many quilts. Thank you for pointing to this site, haven't read much but it
looks very interestingand I am eager to start digging in. Hoping I can pay attention
to what I am reading this time.
