AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FCC
<
Chairman Julius Genachowski
Federal Communications Commission
445 12th Street SW
Washington, DC 20554
<
Dear Mr. Genachowski:
<
Back in the 1950s, when you were still a long way from being even a
twinkle in your daddy's eyes, Sen. Joseph McCarthy was on a rampage
accusing many members of Congress of being Communists.
<
The only problem, McCarthy had a very bad memory. He kept forgetting
the number of his alleged Communists on Capitol Hill and the figures
were different almost every day.
<
It was rather embarrassing, really, and one day Sen. McCarthy and his
wife were discussing it while dining at a restaurant. His wife picked
up the Heinz bottle to sprinkle some sauce on her steak when -- Bingo!
-- she solved the problem.

She showed Joe that the bottle read, "HEINZ 57 VARIETIES: and told him
to stick to 57 (easy to remember) as the number of Commies who were
trying to destroy America. Joe never forgot it.

Now, Chairman Genachowski, I would like to bring to your attention
that we have another Cancer in American who, even better than
McCarthy, has direct almost-daily access to the minds and hearts of
millions of Americans.
<
Obviously, you know I'm referring to Rush Limbaugh, the Clown Prince
of Lies and Distortions.
<
I sincerely believe the FCC must take remedial action for the
reckless, diabolical treatment Limbaugh accorded Sandra Fluke to
millions of listeners over a three-day span last week (as well as for
his multitude of previous transgressions).
<
There is no place in American broadcasting for tirades like the one
Miss Fluke was subjected to and I would hope the FCC would have the
intestinal fortitude to get the Verbal Molester off the airways
permanently (or at least for a few years 'til he wises up).
<
It's a tough decision, I agree, but but it MUST be done.
<
The Obnoxious Blowhard has more than overstayed his welcome and his
past record indicates his only maniacal raves should be inside his
padded cell in an insane asylum.
<
Sincerely yours,
Ed Conrad
