Hi. Is there anything like the Writer's Market for countries outside of
North America? A european version, for instance?

My other question is, I'm seeing messages titled "defloration" and
"Human Growth Hormone" on this and other journalism newsgroups...they
contain an icon or text you are expected to click on. What do you
think...is this a virus waiting to happen if you click? Will this put
Netbuster on your computer? And why on earth are they sending them to
these newsgroups?

My advice is, if it looks dodgy, don't open it.

They are probably sending them to all newsgroups, not matter what the
content of the newsgroup.

Well, for the UK there's the "Writers' and Artists' Yearbook (publ. A&C
Black) and The Writer's Handbook (publ. Macmillan). Both fulfil the same
function as Writer's Market in the States. They have details of English
speaking markets outside Britain, too, like Irish, Australian, South African
and a few American and Canadian.

Hi. I've heard of the publisher Macmillan (hopefully the same one) but not A&C
Black. Have you a mailing address or web page site for either or both of these?
or the name of a good on-line book store where I could buy one?
Thanks!

The book "The Writer's Handbook" is published by Macmillan Publishers
Ltd., 25 Eccleston Place, London SW1W 9NF

the ISBN number is 0-333-71925-5

Any bookstore should be able to order it for you with that
information. Or try looking it up on Amazon.com (the online
bookstore).
Mine cost me $35 Canadian. So far, I haven't used it...but I may, so
it's good to have.
