This questionnaire is for a U.S. individual or business interested in
becoming an independent agent, to promote the sale of handcrafted
imported glassware described above, to wholesale buyers within the
United States, and to receive compensation for these services in the
form of commission payment(s) rendered payable on the basis of each
completed sale which results from the agent's referral of the buyer(s)
to InterContinental Import Agency
(InterContinental Import Agency is abbreviated as "IIA" for the
remainder of this application).
Qualifications
The applicant preferably has experience working within the wholesale or
retail industry, or has business to business sales,
public/customer/client relations, or marketing experience, and has
practical or scholarly knowledge in the field of handcrafted arts or
glassblowing.
The ideal candidate will have fax, e-mail, and color inkjet or laser
printing capabilities.

Responsibilities
The wholesale sub-agent is responsible for promoting the sale of the
goods within a designated U.S. territory to resellers including glass
galleries, gift shops, art and craft retailers and other merchants who
are in the business of selling similar or closely related products to
consumers at the retail level.
The agent will be considered an independent contractor for tax
reporting purposes, rather than an employee. The agent will therefore
be responsible for managing and reporting its own Federal, State, and
local tax obligations and liabilities as an entity completely
independent of InterContinental Import Agency - except where any
Federal or State Law may have contrary provisions.
The agent will be responsible for its own expenses of overhead, labor,
marketing, materials, and other expenses of operating or managing its
business, except for which original or "master copy" marketing
materials IIA shall provide the agent free of charge upon completion of
registration or periodically make available to the agent for a token
fee.
The agent is responsible to IIA for the absolute security and retail
value of any goods in the agent's possession, including items on
consignment to the agent as promotional samples. Even one scratch or
tiny crack can negate the entire value of an item. If a new agent
requires promotional sample items, a security deposit equal to the
wholesale value of the items will be required in advance. Items must be
returned within 30 days of IIA's request - with a refund of the
security deposit.
The Agent is not responsible for the storage, handling or direct sale
of merchandise. All shipments are delivered directly by IIA to the
buyer.
