I am attempting to set up MIRC on a memory stick, so that I can run
with the same parameters (including e mail, full name, nickname and
alternate as well as servers and other such parameters) from different
machines without having to set it all up again. I am finding that
even if I INSTALL it on the memory stick, some of the parameters
continue to be in the base machine and not on the memory stick. Hence,
if I move from one machine to another I have to recreate everything in
the second machine.
Can someone tell me how to set up MIRc so that it can be moved on a
memory stick lock, stock and barrel from one machine to another and
still work!
Thank you very much

You shouldn't test your mIRC on a stick on the computer you installed
IRC; This software should work (and that works) if you only copy the
mimrc.exe file and a few others:
- aliases.ini (your aliases)
- perform.ini (your performs)
- popups.ini (popups menus)
- servers.ini (server list)
- mirc.ini (essential, see its content to check which files to copy to
your stick)
You mustn't install mIRC on other computers using the setup file,
directly start it from the mirc.exe located on your stick.
The only thing that I know it isn't included in the conf files is the
registering informations if you have bought a licence of mIRC (this one
is in the hive I believe).
Nothing's located there.
