mirc Newbie - help downloading files please

i am new to mirc, but i heard it is great to download and swap files.
i am interested in video files. Could someone please tell me how to
get started. I would be starting from scratch. Any help would be
appreciated.

Hey Jack,
Mirc is an awesome place to swap files. Connect to irc.dal.net and join the
channel #ultimate-webmovies. In this channel type !list and you can go on
file servers that contain movies. Type the trigger in the channel. Then type
help in the fserv and it will teach you how to use it. If you have any
questions ask the ppl with the @ in front of there name.

I've just been finding this out. I'm blown away by what you can swap.
However, I don't have an always on connection. I get booted after 2 hours.
Is it possible to sort out resumes? if so, where can I find out more?
