I have recently purchased a Netgear MA101 USB wireless adapter. I am
running XP on a desktop and have all power settings set at "always
on". In addition, I have set the MA101 to not allow the computer to
power down the device to save power.

However, every day I need to unplug and then replug the MA101 in order
for it to work. I have all the updated firmware and drivers for this
and the Netgear WAP. Additionally, signal strength is always in the
"excellent" range since it is only about 30 feet from the WAP.

The MA101 needs to be replugged even when it is directly plugged into
the computer's USB port or through a powered USB hub.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I got one in April, and the best operation is with the version 2.0
drivers. Do you have these drivers?

That being said, the damned thing still causes the occasional lockup
on boot, and still causes the unit to stop working a lot of the time.

Tech "support" stopped responding to my emails after a while, so my
best advice to you is to BUY ANOTHER DEVICE FROM SOME OTHER
MANUFACTURER.

Sorry to shout, but this thing is really freaking me out...

Good luck.

IF you are using the latest drivers then it must be an XP issue.
On my old 98SE, and W2KPro boxen there has never been
a single problem even with the old drivers.
