I ran across this on rec.boats, it describes how to set up a repeater on
your boat.
I thought I'd place it here for critic.

The Bullet2HP runs on anything between 10VDC and 24VDC. The problem
is that if the CAT5 cable for the home made PoE system is very long,
the delivered voltage will be towards the low end of the range. That
works, but not when run from variable sources (car battery and solar
panel). The official HD27012 PoE adapter starts with 15VDC.

Also, I hate repeaters, range extenders, and other forms of RF
pollution. I have a small collection in my office of various
repeaters that I've removed in order to make things work well. If
you're going to install a repeater, try a speed test (IPerf or JPerf)
with and without the repeater. Also note that many repeaters cannot
handle WPA or WPA2 encryption, and can only do WEP.
