When I read some wireless LAN product manual, sometime I read
"pigtails". What is the defination of this term?

KC

It's a kind of adapter made of a short piece of (usually very thin) coax
with a different kind of connector on each end. The very thin coax usually
exhibits a lot of loss at 2.4 GHz, and that's why the length is kept very
short. Lower loss transmission line is usually larger in diameter and
therefore less flexible, more likely to damage a PC card and also too big to
accept the tiny connectors required for connecting directly to the PC card.
