Demonoid blocks connections from the Netherlands?

It seems that the copyright fascists have harassed Demonoid to force
them to block Dutch IP addresses (or at least, that's the only reason
I can think of why they might block Dutch IP addresses).
When I try to reach www.demonoid.com directly, it refuses to load the
site, but when I connect via a foreign proxy (proxy.org), I have no
problems logging in at Demonoid with my account and downloading/
sharing bitstrings with other collectors.

Does anyone know the details regarding this mysterious block?

It seems that torrentfreak had an articles about it:

Same... in Mexico.

Just like sobriquet said, direct connection results in either DNS
failure or http error 500: Internal server error. Works fine using a
proxy.

Very strange about those failures, the first one I've followed doing a
DNS trace and the 4 DNS servers that define the demonoid domain can't
be contacted... so there is some block. The other failure is some
Apache Web server responding with that error code, so even if I manage
to get a connection the server is acting as if they has a failure,
underline on "acting".

Its been like that for almost a week now. I wonder what is the real
problem here.

Been having intermittent problems with page loading in the US as well.
pages come up 404 or 500, but if you refresh it comes in fine.
.....So likely server issues.
