Sooo SORRY. you cant go back in time, either. UGHHH. They better be
compensating you somehow. Do they not have the negatives? I get mine back of
shay on the 14th of this month.
Try the picture people. they are 15 dollars a sheet, but you get them back in
1hr. I have been there over 40 times. I *hate* waiting for the pictures to get
back. Do you have a Flash studio near you? They are 20 a sheet, and you get them
back in 24hrs. I use them quite a bit, too.
So sorry , sweetie :(

Let me suggest Kiddie Kandids in Babies R Us. You get the pictures
immediately and they look like professional!

LOL... I will do it.. what do you want me to say? We just got back from getting
sammi's 3yr bday pictures taken. It only cost 91 dollars with tax for an 8x10,
2 5x7's, and 8 wallets. I also get them back tomorrow. See if you have a FLASH
studio near you.
jolinda
Does anyone know how much the Kiddie Kandids are?
Sorry this happened, Megan.

I agree, it must be pretty hard to mess up all copies of pics these
days. :( Sorry Megan.

Well ....Now that we "really" know each other...All I can say is HOLY $*#&!!!!
I know how difficult is is to achieve nice professional photos of twins(both
infant and toddler). In my case, on our last attempt, I would just get one
settled into the position he/she needed to be in and the other was running out
the door.
I usually go to Kiddie Kandids as someone else here suggested and they are
pretty good. They do not take appointments and sometimes you have to wait a
REALLY long time. This can be especially the case around the Holidays.
Picture People is also a favorite. They do take appointments, have nice props,
and are located in most Malls around here. They did loose major points with me
back in June. We joined they picture club, which entitles members to no
sitting fees, and coupons for free 8X10 portraits at various times through the
year. The coupons come around X-Mas, Valentines Day, Halloween etc. They also
send a coupon to the children in each family for a free 8x10 around their
birthday. I recieved only one coupon for the Burns child this past June. When
we went for 2yr old portraits I asked why I did not get 2 of these coupons
being that I have 2 children. I was told by the manager that it is per
Birthdate. So I asked if it would have been different if I had written James'
birthday on their card for the following day. She said NO. I did not get
nasty, but I did tell her that I thought it was discriminatory and it was not
my childrens fault that they have the same birthdate. She shrugged me off with
not so much as an apology for the stupid policy. The man who took Riley and
James' pictures did give my 2 free 8x10's because he thought it was unfair and
said I was not the first to complain about it.
Sorry you had this happen. I suggest going to a place that charges per sheet,
like Pic People or Kiddie Kandids pay for a few sheets scan them and print out
what you need. I know, I know all about those copyrite laws, but I know I am
not the only one here who has done this so I don't expect any flames! Another
reason to get a decent computer, scanner and printer.

You know, I get coupons all the time for picture studios that I just
toss. (My sister is a professional photographer, so I'd rather go to
her! DS has never had a studio picture aside from one sitting in her
house, otherwise I prefer more casual pictures anyway.) I'll start
saving them, though, if you and others can use them!
Take care,
Lisa
Good, and complain about their stupid policy on one coupon for twins. It is
discriminatory and I am just about to e-mail corporate offices and tell them
so. Kiddie Kandids sent me 2 birthday coupons and I was very appreciative.
As I said I usually buy one or two sheets then I scan or copy what I need for
family.
You have me already thinking about Christmas portraits. Hmmmmmmm!!!!
I dont understand why people think 15 dollars is a lot for a portrait of their
child. I am not rich, and spend that or more all the time. I look at it this
way.. how many spend that or more eating out? That is a waste to me--you just
poop it out. I have 2 kids... 1 and 3, and I dont get 2 coupons for them( One
each). They dont have to give out free coupons. Its not the law. LOL. btw.. I
am not being saracstic, either. I know its hard to tell over the net. I usually
just pay for separate sheets for the girls. I hardly ever get their pictures
taken together. Its too hard to get both of them looking at the camera at the
same time.
When i compare the 3.99 and 4.99 sheets from JCPENNEY, Sears, and
Walmart--they dont hold a candle to the places that put out the pictures in an
hr or a day( like Flash).
I would rather pay 15-20 for a picture than spend 20 dollars( or more) on a
pizza. My best friend teases me about how much i have spent on pictures since
sammi has been born, yet she has no problem spending 50-100 at red lobster. I
don't get it.
jolinda
Hey michelle,
is Kiddie Kandids just in your town, or are they many of them around the US?
Also, I do the same thing as you--I scan and print my pictures. They arent as
good as the originals, but they aren't that bad. I tell the grandparents they
can buy their own.
:)
Christmas? LOL. You are like me.
smile.
Jolinda,
Maybe you are not being sarcastic, and I dont get professional pictures done of
my kids BECAUSE of the coupons. The point was more that it is discriminatory
to entice people to join your club offering a free 8X10 portrait for birthdays
and ony send one coupon becuase the children are twins or triplets and happen
to have the same birthday.
<< I usually
just pay for separate sheets for the girls. I hardly ever get their pictures
taken together. >><BR><BR>
Thats fine for you, but when you have twins generally you like to get picutures
of them individually and together. They share a special connection and it is
nice to doculant it through photography.
<< They dont have to give out free coupons. Its not the law. >><BR><BR>
No....it is not the law, but it part of their offer to get you to join their
club. Unless you ask, they don't tell. This could be concidered false
advertising.
<< My best friend teases me about how much i have spent on pictures since
sammi has been born, yet she has no problem spending 50-100 at red lobster. I
don't get it. >><BR><BR>
I guess to her, her Red Lobster dinner is more important then your professional
photographs. We all have different priorities. I happen to like having
professional pix of my kids done, but I still eat at Red lobster occasionally
too. I also appreciate a birthday coupon once in a while. Please don't hate
me because of it!
Now you see.....I give the grandparents either a scanned picture or a purchased
one. Especially to my parents, because it is the least I can do to thank them
for all they do for me and my children.
Kiddie Kandids is a photo studio located in many babiesRus stores. Check their
website for a location near you.
Oh, i see. I didn't read it that way. SORRY. I was being silly... that is what
i meant by not being sarcastic.
>No....it is not the law, but it part of their offer to get you to join
>theirclub.
Also, one thing they dont let you know is that you can get coupons off the net.
I was a member of THE picture people for nearly 2 yrs, and didnt know about how
you can go and download coupons.
>I guess to her, her Red Lobster dinner is more important then your
>professionalphotographs.
Yes, apparently. I don't have a problem with that, either. What is annoying is
when she makes snide comments about the money i spend on pictures. Its what is
important to me. I have something that is going to last. She has a good meal
>Please don't hateme because of it!Michelle Mommy to Riley Claire &
Hate you? NEVER! smile.
I Couldnt hate you :)
jolinda
I *always* give a scanned one to them. I also give them a purchased one. If i
get them taken with a coupon for 4.99 or less than 10 dollars, I buy them one.
I buy sams mom one more often cause she *does* do a lot for us. My mom is a
different story. Besides, I dont have a problem with them taking the kids to
get pictures of them on their own. I have many friends whose parents do this
. >Kandids is a photo studio located in many babiesRus stores.
Cool.. I have a babiesR' us only 30 miles from here. I will check them out.
Thank you.
:)
Well to play devil's advocate, did you pay 2 fees for the club or 1? If you
paid 1, then I would say you get 1 freebie. If you paid for 2, then yes, I
would holler and throw a fit!
SarahE/
Why? Every family that joins gets one coupon per each child in the family on
their birthday. Everyone pays the same fee. Why should my family pay double
for the same thing everyone else if getting for paying the set price?

Sorry that's so long, bu they are worth it!!
P.S. I love my kids more than life, but $3,000 for pictures? That's
extreme!
As I said in email, i have never got free pictures for their bday's. I am
definately going to say something. They have made a ton of money off me in the
last 3yrs. I usually buy 4-7 sheets each time. Sammi had her pictures taken
every 4-6 weeks till age 2. I never got a free picture for her first, second,
or 3rd bday. This is annoying. Thanks for explaining, michelle.
jolinda
it wouldnt work for me.
dang it.

darn it.. i wanna see them. How did you get to them? PLEASE share.

jolinda
Just a once in awhile thing, of course (but yeah, you have to be able to afford
it). For instance, I have a 24 x 30 portrait of Justin when he was 3 that's
done in oils...it's amazing - people come into my house and are mesmerized with
looking at it. I really would recommend getting a professional studio portrait
done at least once while your kids are young. You don't have to go all out and
spend $3,000, but at least one beautiful high-quality portrait is a family
keepsake that your kids would have forever. You would never ever regret it, I
can say that! A professional studio doesn't expect your child to sit on a
little table and smile. They usually put your child in a big room, let them
play, and get very natural and beautiful photos. No comparison between a
professional photographer's photos and Sears photos.

It's not if that's all you're getting. Actually, I've taken advantage
of the free sheet sitting, and just framed the one! But mostly I'd like
quite a few sheets (there's only 8 wallets a page) to send to my
relatives. So it adds up!
