Hi Ladies,

I have to get the nursery done, soon. I am having trouble deciding what to
do though. These are my ideas so far:

Light periwinkle blue walls, white doors and trim, white 2" wood blinds,
white furniture, or else oak furniture. Not sure which.

Very light apple green walls, white doors and trim, white 2" wood blinds,
oak furniture.

We did not specify gender, so it could be a boy or a girl. I really, really
like periwinkle, I could then do teddy bears or sail boats for a boy, or
just about anything for a girl.

I am scared if I do green, it will look mint, and I HATE mint!

Help!! I am also open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you :)

I like this one best. I would do the white furntiure. i really like white
furniture--esp with white doors and trim. Sammi's room is a cream color with
periwinkle ceiling, and white trim, dresser, bed, table..etc. I get a lot of
compliments on it.

We used this color scheme for our DD's room (periwinkle is my favorite
color). We get a lot of compliments on it.

Hmmmmm......

I think I would go with the periwinkle, because as you said - you can do
anything with it - boy or girl. I do like that apple green color too, but
think periwinkle will give you more options.

Good luck!

I say either will be lovely. If you go with the apple color, pink will really
look great against it. Or lavender.

If you really love periwinkle, I would go with that. You may be disappointed
if the apple does not turn out quite the way you want it to.

Periwinkle is my favorite color. It would look really pretty with the
white trim and oak furniture. :) White furniture to me seems more
feminine, oak more gender-neutral.

A yellow-green is pretty easy to find. The risk is it looking too
gaudy, if it's too bright, KWIM?

You're ahead of me - DS's room still is the guest room. He's
currently in the nursery which is attached to our master, and it's
connected only with an archway so we couldn't really paint the room a
different color. He has Pooh bedding in his crib, a fluffy moss green
changing pad on his table, and that's about it!

Let us know what you choose. :)

Thanks everyone!!

With all your help, we decided on the periwinkle, white trim, and oak
furniture. DH wants the oak furniture and I really should let him pick
*something*. I ordered the furniture and will do the painting on
Sunday/Monday. Can't wait, I hate painting, lol!

I personally like off-white walls or half way colored walls, like with
wainescotting or a chair rail. Whole walls of pastel look plastic to
me. I would personally prefer periwinkle over apple green.

When I did my first dd's nursery, I did off white walls with pine
furniture. Then I put lots of old fashioned looking pictures on the
walls. The pictures were of babies and teddy bears. I had country
quilt looking bedding and window coverings with the main color being
dark blue, with some dusty rose and dusty green looking colors too.
It all looked kind of old fashioned.

I like the perwinkle and white, but that's probably because that's the
same color as Mick's room. We also have some fun, funky accent colors
of chartruse, magenta and grape in it, but there's no real theme going
on. Right now I'm in the process of changing his room to an
outerspace, robots & planets motif. It looks really good with the
perwinkle walls, and I'm making him bedding to go along with it.

Good luck!
