I've been working on finishing the painting in my kitchen this week.

Anyone else doing house renovations/painting/decorating?

Looks great. I'm not into it, but enjoy seeing it done!

Hey, that looks awfully familiar! ; ) Great job!

We're building a pergola in our backyard, and getting towards the end,
thankfully. We still have some finish work to do, but it's up and looks
like a pergola, and provides shade! Whoo hooo! I'll post photos to
MyFamily when we're done!

I'm just trying to keep up with dishes!

The sunny yellow is just perfect for a kitchen. I love it. Dick Cheney is
also looking on approvingly, I see. LOL.

I just finished painting the living room, dining room, foyer and
upstairs hallway. We moved furniture around and I'm planning on making
slipcovers for a few pieces after my sister's wedding is done.

Your kitchen is great! I'm so jealous. :-) My *big* dream is a major
kitchen rennovation. I think I'm close to getting Karl on board with
it. I think the first time he heard me utter the words "knock out the
kitchen wall and join it to the dining room" he had some heart
palpitaions, but now he's much more receptive to the idea. hehehehe.
It's just a matter of coming up with the money really. I want to join
those two rooms, put down bamboo flooring, strip off the horrible
wallpaper, paint and remove the cabinets and the Brady Bunch green
appliances. Nothing minor here! :-)

ps. I signed your blog. I hope that's okay

I have done a fair amount of home improvement in my past life as
someone who had time - LOL. I like doing it, but it is just not
feasible in my present situation. Heck I can't even find the time to
file my nails and do my hair half the time these days.

But, man I love what you did. Someday my time to decorate will come
again.

Thanks! :-)

I've loved the style ever since I visited your home, Jamie! :-)
We're aiming for sort of a southwest/India combination, so it's
perfect.

Oh, I bet that will be nice!! I want a pergola in our backyard too, after
extending our postage stamp patio...we had our table and chairs on the
patio, along with the bbq and Maya's turtle sandbox (she'd play in that
thing every day if she could!) along with some container plants--no room
to walk. A few days ago I had the brilliant idea to set up the table and
chairs out on the grass, and move the bbq over to the wall near the
garage in the grass, and viola! Maya's actually got room to color the patio
with chalk, and to play in the sandbox! I should get paid to do this. ;-)

:-)
I actually wouldn't mind the yellow all around the house, it is very
cheerful!
And it's actually more golden-ish, the flash from the camera makes it
seem brighter than it actually is. :-)

Thanks! :-)

*I'm* exhausted just reading all this! :-)

Thanks! These men. They don't have a clue, do they? :-)
DH also wants the bamboo flooring...but I don't like the way it
looks that much--an argument for later on down the road. :-)

Thanks, KC! :-)

Now that Maya's older, I can do a lot more stuff easily.
I can't even imagine what you'd do with 3! :-)

I'm going to do the golden yellow on the top half
of my dining room area. It's divided by a chair
rail--and I'm thinking of doing the lower part
either chocolate brown (like the accent wall in
the kitchen) or maybe a deep russet color,
haven't decided completely on that one yet.

Thank you, Jade! :-)

I finally finished the painting and glazing last
night, and this morning I've been getting the
kitchen back in order slowly but surely. I'll
post some 'after' pictures asap. :-)
