I have a horse forum that I have worked very hard promoting and I am
trying a non conventional way to get the ranking up.
I am asking for your help. If you are into bookmarks,
delicious,technorati, blink and those type of sites could you bookmark
my forum? Or stop on by. I don't want to take you from this newsgroup
I just need a few more bookmarks to move up.
I am stuck at number 5 for over a year and cant seem to get past
that.

It is a beautiful forum with a wonderfull community. So with those
requests made I hope to see you around.
thanks and if you need any help, Oh I have a forum for site promotion
if you post 10 times you can link back to this newsgroup. So we can
help each other. And I allow linkbacks in your sig file to your
sites!
Thanks again

spud - went there and did that, I really like to chat about horses, I
have 4.
one thing you can do is add a date/time stamp to the "meta" section of
your web page to indicate when it was last updated and then change the
date every week or so. this will keep it updated in the search engines
(Google ect) the search engines "tend" to display recently changed pages
first. this should get the attention of the "Google bot"
the "Google bot" is one of the may programs that continuously searched
the web for new or updated web sites. perhaps you web hosting company
could make that automatically happen every time someone posts something
new. it would be a bit of work for them but it's not totally impossible.
something like:
<META NAME="CREATED" CONTENT="19950815;18450692">
<META NAME="CHANGED" CONTENT="20081411;20481829">
other problem i see is there is no indication or guarantee that the
entered email address will not be supplied to "any" other site or
organization. I am very touchy about that, seems that on about 60% of
these sites almost imedeatly after signing up I start getting spam
very probably without the knowledge of the person that owns
the web site it's often done by the web hosting company without the
website owners knowledge
....so ...
without the "privacy guarantee" your not going to get a valid email
address from me, other than that it's very nice looking site
