This guy is giving you good advice. I am three years (two winters) into my
own place.
BELIEVE ME. It is not easy to carry a 9 to 5 job and 24 / 7 job (horses).

Fantasy #1: You don't save money having your horses in the back yard.
Fantasy #2: You don't get to ride more if they are in the back yard.

I had to hire some help, so I would have the TIME to ride my horses ...

I hate to admit this but I agree too. I would love to have a horse again but
I have kids and little cash flow. So my love for horses will need to stay a
dream until the kids move out and I have more time and money or until my
business takes off and is profitable.

I was just thinking that it would be neat to have a neighborhood horse place
for those horses who need help. Where everyone pitches in to feed/groom/ride
the horse. Provided that everyone was nice, careful and wasn't sue happy.

Enjoy!

Becky, can you paint? Try painting horses and then sell them on eBay. You
get to stay home with the kids, and you can make some pretty good change at
the same time. After a year or so when you start getting really good, you
can start asking higher and higher prices, and then guess what! You can
suddenly afford that horse! Good luck! Annie

Horses are about the only thing I can draw decently. I don't know about
painting but that sounds pretty fun. My husband would say "oh no, another
hobby." At least it would get me away from the computer!

I think once his karate studio is profitable and I'm working again (computer
jobs out here are scarce!) then we'll either buy a house with some land or I
can rent some space.

thanks for the tip! I might try it!

Enjoy!

It's like the old joke- Question-How do you become a millionaire?
Answer- Start out with two million and buy a horse. Truer words were never
spoke
