You do realize that Pakistanis and Indians are from different countries,

I see. I guess the Limeys use it in a broader context than we do in the
US. For us, "Paki" is short for "Pakistani." I guess the Brits are
unable to distinguish between different cultures on the same
subcontinent. Do they call Canadians "septics," as well?

The UK IS small by US standards. I just Google mapped from London to
Glasgow, and it takes less time than the drive from Muncie, Indiana, to
my soon-to-be home in Columbia, Missouri, which is only 2 states away.
Fuck, it takes longer than that to drive the length of Florida.

SLOPE, like ZIPPERHEAD, is indeed a nonspecific term that encompasses
the more localized DINKS, NIPS, CHINKS, GOOKS et al. At least that's

Despite living in NJ my entire life, I have never encountered a chigger.
Ticks up the wazoo. Fleas, sure. Mosquitoes? You have no idea.
No-see-ums? I get covered in welts. But I have never had a chigger

No bonus points for me, but I love praying mantises, and have kept a few
as pets. I lived in one house many years ago where mole crickets would
gather along a low wall every night, and I'd be out there with a
flashlight gathering food for her. It was creepy watching her eat,
especially when she started with the head of a still-living cricket. I
tried a cockroach once, but it was too quick for her. It's a shame they
only live for one season.

Well then. I'm rather fond of "Glass Houses," myself.

Fond high school memory: I went to a Catholic high school, and we had a
"radio station" that played music before the start of the first class in
the morning. One day, a particularly smart ass DJ played "Only the Good
Die Young." As I recall, the song was cut off in mid-play. We all
laughed our asses off.

Two summers ago I filled a tissue box full of them. Around 120, if I recall.
It was awesome for grossing out the nieghborhood girls. I could never find

They finally got mulched this spring.
