A lot of very unpleasant things are being said here, and this really isn't
the place for them.
Would people discussing topics that have nothing to do with horror or
Cthulhu please take their discussions off to hatelists somewhere?

Thank you.

If you refer to the thread started by someone else, called H. P. Hatecraft -
there is nothing hateful in there, except the peson starting the thread may
have hated HPL and his fiction. Just open speech - and it is most
definitely not off topic since HPL had these feelings - and probably had
reasons why he felt such things. He is not here to ask.

I think you, dear, were the most hateful thing in that thread. Your
even bringing up the IQ topic is a good case in point. What, may I
ask, does your IQ matter anyway? Does it lessen your right to respect
and decent treatment in some way? Does having a low IQ make you more
prone to act badly? Compassion is a more laudable attribute. Some of
the biggest ass holes and bastards I ever came across have been very
smart people. Whats your IQ btw?

I'd just like to add that the attitude toward black people that "Comm"
attributes to Asians is quite unaccurate, in my experience. Possibly
the hatred and fear she feels toward this ethnic group is due to bad
personal experiences, but as someone who has lived most of his life in
Asia, among Asian people, and who is thoroughly assimilated within
their culture (Chinese culture, in my case), I'd like to point out
that this kind of blatant bigotry is not characteristic of Chinese
people on the whole. There are racists and bigots in every country, of
every ethnic background, certainly, but I've found that the Chinese
are no more xenophobic than any other race; probably much less so than
most other peoples, to be frank.

That's why nobody will discuss these issues. The PC thought police
are always right around the corner, ready to jump out and start
wagging their fingers. They want to keep their minds firmly
closed, and do their best to close the minds of everyone else. But
I told you what kind of response your posts would arouse, and you
knew it yourself. So, no surprises.

The original thread was about Lovecraft's supposed racism. Most
fans of Lovecraft would agree that he was a gentle and
compassionate man who did not hate others. However, there is the
question as to what extent his conventional views toward other
races, so prevalent during his time, have any basis in reality.
The politically correct thing to say is that they have no basis
whatsoever of any kind. However, not everyone shares the
politically correct viewpoint.

Comm stated, from her personal experience, that Asians are
extremely racist, particularly the Chinese, particularly towards
blacks. Now you say they are not. It is difficult to know which of
you to believe.

I'm saying that, in my experience, and having lived amongst the
Chinese - including speaking, reading and writing their language,
observing their customs and beliefs and having Chinese family and
friends - on a daily basis for most of my life, the Chinese are no
more racist than any other people; on the contrary, they are
remarkably tolerant compared to many races. Believe what you will.

Or might it be that some of us - Edward included - think there are
better things to discuss on a newsgroup supposedly devoted to
Lovecraft and his fiction? As he says, there are certainly groups
devoted to discussing the supposed superiority of race over race, and
I'm sure they all routinely display complaints about that current
cliche, political correctness. In my experience, anyone who points out
racism in other racial groups is looking to justify their own racism.
Many's the phone-in caller who begins "I'm not a racist, but..."
Inevitably they are. Why justify it at all?

I'd agree with that comment completely. I judge people by their words and
actions, not by their colour, race or religion. In this instance 'Comm' has
shown herself to be a bigot, and not deserving of being engaged in any kind
of conversation. And being a victim of bigotry does not give someone the
right to become a bigot themselves.

I'm also not a big fan of IQ scores, and find them to only quantify logic in
the most part. Intelligence is a much more complex issue, and should also
consider such things as creativity and natural ability in
engineering/mechanics/computing etc. I'm sure most of us know someone who
is not the most academically gifted, but could rebuild a car engine
blindfolded. Or the highly qualified professor who can't work a microwave.

You can believe a black tourist that wrote an article once about her
experiences in Japan. She said something like - the place was advertised
as friendly and so forth, but no one was friendly to her and they made no
bones about saying why. Some stores wouldn't even sell her items. I don't
have a citation - sorry. You can read way back if you can dig it up, about
the riots that ensued due to African students and their behavior there in
China - way back, just before Tieneman Square happened. It was all in the
news, too.

Racism happens when behavior preceeds it. There is nothing wrong with
having a low IQ. But there is a LOT wrong with passing people in colleges
that aren't qualified - and on that you can check Allen Bloom and so many
others that are quite honest about it. Of course, when everyone knows it,
as you stated (whites being apt not to speak about it) - then bad feelings
arise.

Having a low IQ is no reason to treat a person badly, eg, a Down's Syndrome
person. But Down's are very happy friendly types of people. What makes
people avoid certain groups is BEHAVIOR - and on that behavior there is no
doubt anywhere in any city in the USA. People notice that certain groups
are behaving that way. In comes what I think is WRONGLY called "racism."
Nope. It's rational discrimination, as Dinish DeSouza called it.

The subject WAS HPL, someone calling HIM a racist due to his views. But HPL
never encountered what anyone can encounter today in any city. HPL never
even heard of such things, as far as I know.

I don't particularly care if someone finds what I openly said (and it was
open) terrible. That's exactly what you were talking about - WHY people
keep their mouths shut. They speak openly ONLY under certain circumstances.
I don't HATE anyone, however. I do avoid certain areas - but then - so does
EVERYONE ELSE. Like, no one goes there. Allen Bloom doesn't hate anyone
either - but he also spoke quite frankly and bluntly. It's just too bad if
someone ego projects hate there. Nope. Not hate. If I was around people
that behaved like thugs every day, then I might hate. But I'm not around
them.

I do not regard HPL as a racist, I don't care what he said about ethnic
groups he found distateful. He probably had reasons for finding them
distasteful. So what. He has a right to feel what he feels and not be
branded by the current regime of thought cops. Regimes change.

Political correctness is a disease of psychotic people, imo. Right now,
it's Orwellian in size. It will pass. But you hit it on target, what
brought the rest out into the open - that whole HP HATEcraft bullshit. No
one noticed the warping of his name? They even trashed his writings - which
are superb and good reading. HPL used to read up on science and
ethnology. So did Derleth, btw. No basis to feel that way? Anyone that is
like HPL, very Anglo and Anglophile, that moves into an Italian neighborhood
is NOT going to like it very much. Italians are just NOT neat freaks or
stiff upper lip types. The two would grate on each other - I've seen it
tons of times. Hell, I tend to grate on Anglos because I'm a lot more like
an Italian - sort of. One on one, however, odd as THIS might sound, blacks
tend to like me - probably because we "speak" the same language and
understand each other very easily. Odd, really odd! The only person on the
block that's ever been in my home is the black guy and his two kids. No one
else. That family, they are like the Cosbys. Hell, no one else even knows
anyone else. But if they ever even once brought up their race? They have
not ever done that so far, but if they did? That would be the end of it.
Right now, they are PEOPLE. JUST people. I noticed that when an Italian
family lived next door (the other next door) the house was falling apart a
bit, things were getting shitty. They moved out. Hispanics bought it - and
Hispanics tend to really spruce up houses, really nice and pretty. Pretty
colors. But I notice the difference. Everytime I see Hispanics moving in,
the next thing I see is Amway gets BIG in the area, Avon gets BIG in the
area - and the houses start to look really nice - not bland either. Every
time.

It is a very very rare thing that I even run into someone that, and it's
easy to tell them, have that PC mindset going for them. Very rare. People
know what they know - from hard knocks experiences. None of them HATE
anyone - but it's common for PC minded types to imagine there has to be
hate. Nope - wrong.

Hmmmm

I generally don't dabble in these discussions because they are
singularly unrewarding and generally of no interest.

But you will have to forgive anyone who reads The Horror at Red Hook
and gets the impression that HPL wrote things that today are (rightly)
considered racist, as was much of the pulp of his day. I can live
with this, as the stories are 70+ years old. I also won't gloss over
it. Heck, I read a number of the Dr. Dolittle books when I was a
kid. There was an entire story line of an African who's goal in ife
was to become white. These books date from around the turn of the
last century. It doesn't read particularly well today.

I'm dropping out of this thread again, so don't consider a non reply

What I just told you about the word Ha Kwei is not a belief. That IS the
chinese word for "black person." That is a fact. What I said about Korean
illegals and Christians is also true. It's not a belief. I don't have
beliefs about such things. I know what I know - from either seeing it first
hand, or hearing it first hand. Or, in the case of Dr. Lu - second hand.
He has no reason to lie, btw.

I fear that what you don't like are a few statements of simple fact I put on
here. Too bad. There is nothing repulsive about truth.

Uh, that is the word for "black person." You might think it's derogatory
and I may have been a bit surprised to find out what it literally means.
But it's the word that is used. It's not an epithet! I spelled it the way
it sounds to me.

Who cares? People have a RIGHT to like and/or dislike whomever they choose,
individually OR in whole groups - and the have a RIGHT to free speech about
it without FEAR of being branded, harmed, or treated the way some of you
Grand Inquisitors would treat it. You don't know my beliefs, yet you find
them repulsive. I didn't state beliefs of mine on here. I simply stated a
few very well known facts. So you find facts repulsive. Fine. I don't.
E. Europeans hate my group so much that they still pray to God to protect
them from us as if we are devils out of hell. Do I care? Hell no, I don't
care. HP LOVEcraft mentioned my group by our own old name for ourselves, as
THE authors of all black magic. Wait a minute, we don't consider it black
magic. But do I care? Of course not. I can see WHY HPL would think that,
tho, sure enough. I've been here long enough to be able to see WHY
westerners would think that.

Beliefs are one thing. Facts are quite another thing. Denial of facts is
psychotic.

No one ever asked me my beliefs, or my wishes. I wish for a Star Trek
world. We were talking about HPL and what HE felt toward groups of people -
and whether or not he "had a right" to feel that way or not. Sure he has
right to feel that way. Anyone has a right to FEEL anything they want, they
have a right to like or dislike anyone, or any group and of course they have
a REASON to feel that way, of course they do. I tend to avoid what I
dislike. If I disliked HPL, I'd avoid his writing. But I like HPL.

I'm not confused here. YOU ARE. You assume I hate a group, probably
blacks. Oh, does Bill Cosby hate blacks, too? I agree with Bill Cosby. I
like Bill Cosby. I like Juan Williams. I like Allen Bloom. Does he hate
blacks? I'm not confused here at all. YOU ARE.

Ok then. Tatars are usually a quite friendly and playful people, they can
play like kids play - and if they are Islamic, they make very bad Moslems.
But they are also the most diabolically cunning and bloodthirsty people on
the face of the planet - and if you ever fight a war with them, pray to die
and not be captured. Do I hate Tatars? I AM a Tatar. I'm speaking a
truth. A fact.

I don't have a problem with facts. PC people all have problems with facts.
And they have a really nasty tendency to want to stifle free speech.

Of course you have the right to believe what you want. But don't be

What part of this are you having difficulty grasping? You said that
black people behave like monsters, that they are destructive losers,
and that they should be got rid of. That isn't an objective "truth".
It's your own belief. I'm not even going to bother responding to the
rest of your screed (half of which relies on shouting in an attempt to
get its point across), as it's obvious we won't agree.

Well, not really. The original poster simply quoted part of a review
from the Observer (it also appeared in the Guardian). As for the
"Hatecraft" pun, don't forget HPL himself suggested "Hateart" as a

On political correctness, of course it can stifle debate, but so can

Was it in this thread or the other one that someone said England had

On Apr 20, 8:00 pm, Schrodingers Hat
Jacob Bronowski dealt with that very issue in his essay "Knowledge
and Certainty", which was part of his /Ascent of Man/ series. His
basic message was that the less a person knows, the more certain he is
that he knows what is true, whereas the more a person knows, the less
certain he is that he knows what is true.

It was in the other thread. I'm not sure what they were getting at,
either (no reason was given to back the notion, except for something
about 'crazy Pakistanis'). Most of my relatives living in England and

Semantics is also a logical fallacy. You state what you believe to be

HA - well, heh, a person would have to be deaf dumb blind and a moron not to
KNOW that the place he used to live in, a nice place, has turned to freaking
shit - with certain people making it obvious that they are turning it to
shit.

What I KNOW to be true is that blacks wrecked every single neighborhood they
moved into in great numbers. And it's everyone that have to move out of
there that knows it, Kevin. They know the truth of what happened there,
what happened to their neighborhoods - and who did it - and why they had to
leave. These are truths like - I KNOW I'm drinking orange juice right now,
it's not coffee. Nothing semantical about it.

What's more - Canada is having problems with people. and so apparently is
Australia - and at the bottom of that page, there is a nice review of The
Authotative Book - genetics, regarding the matter. but here you can read
what some Australians said - and what some Black Jamaican said and whatever
the freak else.

http://foxhunt.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_foxhunt_archive.html

Go for it.

Nothing to do with semantics. Tell ya what - if Joe Smith punched your face
and broke your nose, would you be on here KNOWING that Joe Smith did it? Or
maybe you wouldn't know - who am I to assume you are that astute!

I know I'm drinking orange juice right now. I am not drinking coffee. I
absolutely, positively know that. It's NOT a belief, Kevin. I also know I
just typed a post to you. I don't believe it. I know it.

Now, a person that's not on the internet would be in no position to know I
typed you a post. Right?

What Al said is true. What that Australian guy is writing about is true.
And the whole heap of real life experiences, not theories or beliefs, that
people actually had, are also truths. Not beliefs. If you don't know the
difference, then I suggest you go get into a fight and get punched really
hard and then see if you know you got punched, or just think or believe it -
because reality is just like that - it's like a brick in your face hurled
good and hard.

HPL had a right to think what he thought - and he may have been justified in
thinking that, just as that Australian guy is justified in thinking it. He
has the FACTS to back up what he thinks. Not beliefs. The black Jamaican
said what he said based on his own real life observations and situations and
relations. He's not saying what he said in a vacuum, or on faith. Lynn,
however, the geneticist, has the genetics.

There are lots of responsible black parents, and good black kids,
I'm sure. They have a more difficult time because American society
expects them to drop out of school and fail to speak proper
English. You know yourself, any black child that speaks with
correct diction and proper grammar will be mocked by his peers.
They are deliberately encouraging that child to behave in a manner
that injures his chances of future success. That's what Bill Cosby
is so incensed about. Willful ignorance on the part of blacks, the
deliberate refusal to learn what might advance their lives.

When placed in a white environment, a black child will always do
better than he would in a black environment. Invariably. Yet we
have idiots who say that black children are better off with their
"own kind." How self-defeating is that?

It has everything to do with semantics. Your entire argument is based
on semantics. You deliberately conflate the meanings of the terms
being used so as to support your position, you even deliberately use
the terms in ways that are completely different from how the rest of
us are using them.

Knowledge as Bronowski defined it for his observation is not personal
experience, which is anecdotal and can be wrong, but scientific
knowledge, which is tested and verified by experiment and observation.

"One aim of the physical sciences has been to give an exact picture of
the material world. One achievement of physics in the twentieth
century has been to prove that that aim is unattainable."

This is the old "every answer raises ten new questions" idea. It is
the observation that with every new discovery, with every new bit of
information we obtain, the unknown aspects of the universe we are
trying to understand grow rather than shrink. Bronowski called this
the paradox of knowledge: the more we learn, the more we realize we
still need to learn; the more we know, the more we realize just how
much we don't know. In other words, we come to realize that all
knowledge is limited.

Throughout the rest of the essay, Bronowski then applied this basic
scientific observation to the human condition, using the Nazis as his
primary example. These were a people who were absolutely certain that
they knew everything that needed to be known, and that what they
believed was absolutely correct. And like you, they based that belief
on personal experience. Like you and blacks, they saw how Jews were
destroying Western civilization and white Aryan culture. Like you,
they called their belief "knowledge" because they saw it with there
own eyes. Like you and blacks, they declared Jews to be an inferior
race that caused nothing but destruction. Like you, they supported
their claims using pseudoscience. Yet as Bronowski pointed out, their
certainty was not based on science or even observation, but on
ideology and a monomaniacal desire to justify their own bigotry.

"This is the concentration camp and crematorium at Auschwitz. This is
where people were turned into numbers. Into this pond were flushed the
ashes of some four million people. And that was not done by
[knowledge]. It was done by arrogance. It was done by dogma. It was
done by ignorance. When people believe that they have absolute
knowledge, with no test in reality, this is how they behave."

Now, you will probably deny that you have absolute knowledge, but your
words state otherwise. When you say things like "I KNOW . . .", you
are declaring your absolute certainty that what you believe is true is
actually true in reality, with no hesitation and no uncertainty. Yet
this absolute certainty is based on a profound ignorance of the nature
of the human mind and human intelligence. Meanwhile, science is
demonstrating that what we know about intelligence and how the mind
works cannot be neatly and precisely described by a single number
determined by a battery of standardized tests that are not based on
any real understanding of intelligence.

This has been an interesting discussion, because it once again
reinforces the conflict between certainty based on dogma and
ignorance, and the uncertainty that comes from scientific knowledge.
What we know from science should make us cautious about reading any
kind of genetic meaning into the racial IQ differences, yet there are
ignorant people who will use their lack of knowledge to reinforce
their bigotry.

That is at once very sad and very enlightening, especially when it
comes from otherwise highly intelligent and perceptive people.

It's what I have seen, time and time again, in every city that they have
taken over.

What about this, written by a black observer:
"Leighton Levy, a black columnist for the Jamaica Star newspaper has as much
claim as Mr Hareer to represent the reasonable black person. In that article
discussing "the dark side of black people," as revealed by the recent
Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans, Mr Levy declares that he is
"beginning to believe that black people, no matter where in the world they
are, are cursed with a genetic predisposition to steal, murder, and create
mayhem." His view is very similar to the point I made in my letter to the
Parramatta Sun. If a reasonable black man can express that view, a similar
opinion found in my letter to the Sun cannot be characterised as "plainly
malicious or scurrilous" and "designed to foster hatred or antipathy" simply
because the author happens to be a white man. Discussions about the nature
and significance of race must be an equal opportunity activity."

Is that similar to the view HPL had of them? It is very similar to the view
I have seen of them, personally, in cities that unfortunately became inner
cities. Sure - not all of them are like that. But to many of them are,
especially when they are the majority anywhere. This is what I have seen -
and regrettably had to flee from, like a god damned refugee in my own
country, because people behaved that way - and because the law didn't do
something about it.

I'm just saying that your general portrayal of the
> Chinese as black-hating bigots is completely inaccurate.

It is accurate in that every one I've ever met fit that description. I can
only speak about what I've seen, what I've heard said directly to me. I
can't speak about your experiences or everyone's experiences.

When I spontaneously run into a person and a conversation just starts up,
no, I do not see age, race, not even gender. I speak to people the same, no
matter what or who they are. Racist? Tit for tat. That's how that goes.
I don't avoid ANY ethnic group - except blacks, especially in inner cities.
That's not racist. That's survival.

OH please, get real! People who had to flee from neighborhoods have
knowledge - not in the philosophical sense. They have knowledge of the
somatic marker variety - concrete and in your face knowledge. I do not need
scientific verification to know that if I spill a cup of orange juice, it's
going to splash all over the place and I'll have to clean it up.

Nazis did not think Jews were inferior at all. They thought Jews were
diabolically clever - highly intelligent - and a real competitor for
resources. Now, a reading of "The Culture of Critique" by Professor Kevin
MacDonald and "Stalin's Willing Executioners" might give you an idea about
why Germans felt as they did. You do realize that the USSR was next door to
where Hitler was - and Hitler, along with Woodrow Wilson, Churchill and
Chamberlain along with anyone that ever read the Jewish Newspaper - knew
that the revolution was Jewish - hell, they bragged it. Everyone knew it.
That was then. That's been downplayed for decades now, so that people
forget. But back then was back then. There were reasons things happened.
And now in England, it is illegal to teach about the holocaust because
Moslems demanded it be stopped. They got their way.

I am stating what I know is concretely true in real life experiences. Lynn,
however, does have empirical science and genetics behind him. Go read his
book then. And hold on, I never said blacks were inferior. Back off on
that one. I don't believe humans are superior to worms. The issue of
inferior and superior do not enter into my mindset - I just DON'T think that
way. Blacks ARE violent, they have a propensity for it - and that IS a fact
backed even by the FBI stats. I posted in here a quote from a black
observer. If HE can say something like that, what, I can't? Humans come in
breeds, just like any other animals do - and the breeds have different
behaviors and abilities. I brought up lower IQ - ok - that's a fact and
Lynn and many others proved it. But they have SUPERIOR (if you demand that
word) athletic ability in some sports - and no one seems to deny that.

Today, blacks, especially in universities, do not want to be seen as "just
people." They are demanding to be seen as BLACK people. They are in many
other ways, regarding language and behavior, DEMANDING separateness. OK
then. Give them a nation!

The only dogma is the pc dogma. The science is from Professor Lynn, and I
gave you a reference to his book. Genetics is opening up the entire
spectrum, more and more.

Here is where you are wrong. I thought IQ was just learning. I came to
learn that this was totally wrong. And yes, there is hard science to prove
it - I just gave you a reference. But you know, if they all had super high
IQ and behaved as atrociously as they have behaved in all those cities,
causing everyone else to HAVE to get the hell out - I'd feel the same way:
AVOID THEM, STAY AWAY. I also keep my distance from Pitt Bulls, Kevin.

The problem of the Internet, and usegroups in general, is that anyone
can post to it.

But then, it's not like there's some happy ideal way back when that
we're looking back to, is there? It used to be the Barking Toad of a
thousand aliases, and before that, well I wasn't here much before
that. There's people who can't hold a conversation, and without any
sort of administrative banning, there's really very little that can be
done, as this thread demonstrates.

Can someone suggest a web-board or email list that those of us who
actually do want to discuss Lovecraft might be happier with?

We were discussing Lovecraft - until a tangent got brought into it. In case
you didn't notice the title of the threat that started it? H. P. HATEcraft?
That's not his name.

Ramsey, I literally gasped when I read that part of Comm's post, and
was about to take her to task about it myself. It's getting
increasingly hard to take these posts seriously, what with the lack of
any kind of reliable evidence to back up spurious claims, and the fact
that nearly every other word is capitalised in an attempt to convince.
It doesn't, of course; it merely comes across as strident and
desperate.

Ask Aaron Vanek. He said a lot of discussions where happening in My Space.

Or if you do a Goggle Groups search in this newsgroup for his name and My Space, he gave
me a list of some of the URLs.

I know, I am temped to go there as well. Over the years a.h.c has gone up and down in
number of postings and the quality of postings; I think the quality is slipping now
myself. I find a lot of posts now I just have no interest in reading.

Hopeful, after some months or a year, a.h.c will start an upward turn again.

.....
Comm,

I live in Boston, Massachusetts (as can be see in my .sig), about 3 miles from the center
of the city. It is a large, major city on the upper Eastern coast of the United States.
In the Greater Boston area, there are over 1 million people.

Lovecraft set his story "Pickman's Model" in what is called the North End area of Boston.
I've been there often.

My neighborhood is a very racial mixed one, many black, some whites ( am white), some
Hispanics, a few Asians. I've lived here almost 10 years now. It is a very nice
neighborhood with a very low crime-rate. I park my car on the street, for example, and
there has never been a problem.

People here are quite friendly with each other, even if we don't know each other a great
deal. I walk Max The Dog in the mornings and evenings and have only had a problem once
in all my years here while doing so -- and that was because the guy was just a fucking
asshole, regardless of what color or nationality he was. I often stop to talk with other
people, many who are black, who are walking their dogs as well. (In case you don't know,
by the way, all dogs are color-blind.)

It is also a very mixed neighborhood in other ways. There are a good number of gay
people who live in this area, singles and couples, including myself. The straight people
here have no problems with the gay people., nor the gays with the straight people. There
is also a mix of young and old people, religious and not religious as well.

There is a *large* community garden right behind my home and during the summer, blacks,
whites, Hispanics, men and women, straight and gay, are often out there together and
often help each other as they work at growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

This morning as I was waking Max The Dog, I saw a black woman and an Asian man happily
say "Hello" to each other and then they started to laugh together about something.

Over the years my neighborhood and the areas around it have become one of the more
expensive and more desirable places to live near the center of Boston.

My oldest friend (who I have known for over 25 years now), who I first boarded in her
house with for the first 7 years when I moved to Boston, is a single, straight, black
woman, Joan, who is an attorney has repeatedly given me here services to be as an
attorney, without charged, often when I desperately needed them. She lives in her house
3 streets away from me and has lived there her entire life.

Joan knows far *more* about Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos, as well as science fiction,
fantasy, and horror, and a great, great many other fields of knowledge than you ever will
or would be able to. She has had a chapbook on the books of the Mythos published and
was one of the co-founders and co-chairs (along with me) of "NecronomiCon: The Cthulhu
Mythos Convention" for the 5 times that convention was held over a decade.
"NecronomiCon" remains a very well-respect and greatly enjoyed convention by many
Lovecraftians, including a number of posters to a.h.c. Many wish it would be held again.

So as far as *your* "Truth" about *your* "Reality", let me just say you are full of shit.
You're a fucking bigot, Comm, and typical of such a person, you are too fucking blinded
by your own prejudices to see that, let alone understand it.

The beautiful thing about free speech, especially on the internet
(face to face with others they tend to be more circumspect), is that
people exercise it and we know who they are and, more importantly,
*what* they are. I dont plonk anyone but seeing the shallow
characterisation and the superficiality of her knowledge and her
truths, I now know to take her comments with a lot of care.

Words are a strange thing. What is clear to one is murky to another
and just to be explicit, I'm not commenting on you, Franklin, but

Shallow characterizations and so forth? Let's see - cousin raped and
stabbed. Mother raped and finger broken. I can go on, make a list and list
about 200 people I personally knew - VICTIMS. Shallow? In person, forget
circumspect - if you disregarded the brutal experiences of some family
members of mine, at the hands of these thugs - I'd deck you out. That's in
person. Shallow? I know there are nice blacks. I assume then, that there
were also nice Nazis. That's JUST the way it is - based on experiences. I
told you: start with Newark, NJ. Go ahead. Start there.

There is nothing murky about being mugged, stabbed, shot at, or any of those
other spendid things. I sincerely hope that some day, you get to experience
these wonderful things. Then I'll come around and say really nice things
about the person that did them to you. OK. Or better yet, I'll blame you.

Let me correct you before you jump down my throat. I mentioned Newark NJ.
That is what I know. Then Irvington. Then E. Orange. It spanned over many
years. It was HORROR - for real. As a Jewish friend who experienced the
camps said - THIS is what it was like in Buchenwald. That's enough.

I'm glad you live in a nice place. I too live in a nice place NOW. And
it's mixed.

But today, due to what I personally experienced for so long a time - seeing
that there are some very nice blacks tells me that there must have also been
some very nice Nazis. That is what I experienced. DO NOT dare to call me
a bigot - for having experienced HELL ON EARTH due to one race of people -
and don't chastise the many that flee out of areas for the same reasons.
You never heard of white flight?

Sure, I know - I see first hand NOW - that they aren't all like that - that
they TOO would flee from such areas. But such things do not simply pass
away - they remain - as such, they are called the school of hard knocks.

Definitely not the mark of a person capable of agreeing to disagree and
accepting that NOT all views are the same. Some views are highly diverse -
and even ones you might dislike. The whole idea of free speech is to defend
the right of people to voice opinions, no matter what they are based on,
that you do NOT agree with. I put some of them out here - mainly to wait
and see what transpired. Of course, I didn't have to do that at all.

I've been surprised this past year or two by how many people
express no regard for free speech. No only do they fail to
understand why it is important and must be defended, but they seem
to believe it would be better if there were no free speech.

Such an attitude would have been viewed as so insane, so foolish,
so malicious, only twenty years ago, that no one would have voiced
it, unless as a joke. It would have been akin to saying that
torture is a praise-worthy practice.

But wait ... George W. Bush is having prisoners tortured. He must
think it's a good thing, or he wouldn't be ordering it done. So,
if the leader of the free world has come to believe that it is OK
to torture prisoners, I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that some
of the lemmings are saying that free speech is not necessary.

I think the Telegraph is pretty generally reliable. Nowhere does it

Comm and you, Mr. Smith, can bullshit all you want about "Free Speech". You can both
spew your mindless and ignorant and racist opinions about Lovecraft or The Whole World
all the fuck you want, even when they have absolutely nothing to do with
alt.horror.cthulhu. It's Usenet.

On the other hand, I have heard and read endless amounts of prejudicial, racist,
homophobic, sexist, jingoist Free Speech and writings for decades. In my opinion, it all
comes from people who are in their souls self-centered assholes who care only about
themselves -- and maybe a few Those Like Them. They have narrow, limited, twisted,
distorted views of reality and at the core of all their thinking, and beliefs, and
feelings is a basic pathological hatred of those who are different from them and
unwillingness to personally grow beyond that.

With such a person, there is for me in the end, no reasonable discussion to be had. They
have chose to be stupid and are determined and fight to remain so.

So both Comm and you, Smith, can post all then bullshit crap you want to Usenet, to
alt.horror.cthulhu. It sure as fuck doesn't mean you have opinions or thoughts that are
worthy of consideration or, especially, deserve any type of respect, intellectual or
emotional. It just means you are fucking, narrow-minded assholes who somehow believe
their bullshit is something other people want to read, are interested in, let alone
discuss.

Free Speech away all the hell you want. Free Speech does NOT mean that Speech is
Important Speech or Interesting Speech or Rational Speech. Free Speech does NOT mean I
want to listed to all the same ignorant, self-centered racist, bigoted, narrow-mind,
stupid, cruel, ignorant, vile, hateful shit I have heard over and over before.

I wrote folks such as the two of you out of my "Intelligent and Thoughtful and Empathic
Comments and Opinions" years ago. You offer nothing -- NOTHING -- new for me or anything
I am interested in. If I was, I could just go read the Nation Vanguard or John Birch
Society or the Klu Klux Klan websites.

And by the way, Comm and Smith, don't be surprised if the ONLY people you end up talking
to in a.h.c is just each other, because I suspect many others here, if they have no
already, have grown tired of you and your opinions both, and will simply discuss things
around you both.

It seems wherever one goes, there always has to be a couple of shit-for-brains who have
to ruin it for everyone else.

Welcome to my killfile, Al Smith. Have fun with Comm there! *plonk*

Thank you, Darrin. How very true and directly to the point.

About 14 years ago, I was doing my laundry in a Laundromat on a Sunday morning. I was by
myself in the place, sitting by the large glass window in front, reading a newspaper. It
was a bright sunny day, and the place was right next to a busy coffee shop, where I had
bought my newspaper and a coffee and donut.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my upper left arm and drop my newspaper. A black, male
teenager, say about 15 years old, had stabbed me deeply in my arm with his knife. (It
went to the bone.) He demanded I give him all my money, which I did: about $4.00 worth
of quarters. Hey, it was a damn Laundromat.

The kid run off, and while I could see in the direction where he went, I didn't know
where I was going. I walked into the coffee shop, with my hand pressed over my knife
wound, and said in a very loud voice, "Would someone call the police and an ambulance;
I've just been stabbed."

Needless to say, everyone in the shop tried to help me. The store owner at once called
911. The many cafe patrons, middle-age and older black and white men and women, all came
over to see if I was okay. Several tried to chase after the teenager who stabbed me, but
lost sight of him. The store clerk got a clean cloth to put over my wound while we
waited for the police to come.

I was badly shaken up emotional by the entire thing for some weeks. Though I went back
to the work a few days later AND I went back to the same Laundromat slightly over a week
later, though I had to drive the short distance to it with my laundry in my car, because
I could not carry it that far.

After being taken to the emergency room at a hospital, with by cleaned clothes (though
not dried) in my laundry basket traveling with me all the time, I had no money and no way
to get home. So I called my friend Joan, the single, black, female attorney who has been
by friend for over 25 years. She drove down to the hospital, took me hope, and also took
my clothes home with her so she could dry them in her home dryer.

Who should I hate because of this? Should I hate all men, because it was a male who
stabbed me? Should I hate all 15-year olds or teenagers because it was a teenager who
stabbed me? Should I hate all black people because it was a black person who stabbed me?
Should I hate all black, male teenagers because it was one who stabbed me?

I'm not a fool.

That is insane. That is prejudice, as blackwingbear says; idiotic, stupid, vile,

OK. I thought, as the person on the radio thought, that the English
capitulated on that. I have something that was written by Dr. Steven
Steinlight that's - PHEW about what's going on overseas, not so much yet in
the USA, but even here, some PHEW going on. He wrote it to all the Jewish
organizations, ADL, AJC, etc. It's scary!

Speaking of them, I read something awhile back written by one of them, I
think it was one of them, that had these "proofs" from HPL letters and what
not about the meaning behind SoI. The convo didn't last long enough for me
to ask him which letters, or ask him to let me SEE the letters if they
weren't Arkham house published letters. I should have asked (my bad). My
argument - and PHEW did I argue it, was that HPL did NOT invent the
amphibious fish-frog humanoids that he called Deep Ones. He got that
straight from regular mythology. But the argument went back and forth - and
I heh, well, such a person might want to kill ME if he ever read my novel,
Other Nations. Oh yes indeed! And btw, reading that, you'd never imagine
I'd come up with some of the spew I plastered on here - basically in a kinda
peeved mood at someone trashing HPL. LOL. Yeah... whatever. I think the
argument finally ended when I told him that Sonya Green was Jewish, he knew
that, but - well, I don't know what else he knew, or what he had. I should
have asked. Too late now.

No, it's reality. I was talking about blacks in Newark NJ. What do you
mean "the person." You mean gang of thugs, many times gangs of thugs,
different ones, the whole general feel of the place was ANTI non-black big
time. Every god damned WEEK - for years. I had to carry a weapon to go to
work, to walk to a store, and etc. That SUCKED. It is they that HONED HOME
the "reality of skin color." Not I. Not anyone else there. They made it
into a freaking uniform - not anyone else, no one else did that. Newark NJ.
That's all I need to say to some folks that KNOW what happened there. I
could care less about those that don't know - but let them mouth off at me
and I'll WISH them experience the same thing 10 fold.

Prejudice means to pre judge. I'm too non-western in innate knee jerk
tendencies, or instincts, to pre judge anything - most of the time. I have
to THINK ABOUT it and MAKE myself "remember" like "OH, don't go there."
Remember, don't forget, never forget. I saw a freaking snake on the front
porch and went to grab hold of it to get it out until people that saw it
said "OH STOP STOP." Oh yeah, right. SNAKE. OK. Remember, snake - keep
away.

The topic has become boring. Really boring. I avoid certain people now -
just to bypass the freaking hassles and whatever else. I go where I go, I'm
a senior citizen so, I don't go where KIDS go or where teens go. I go where
it's comfortable. I don't go where it's not comfortable. I click with
people - or I don't. That's just the way it is. I don't label it, or care
to - and I certainly don't give a damn what anyone ELSE thinks about where I
go, what I do or anything else. I never did, I'm not gonna start now.

Again, the topic has become BORING. End it. HPL. HPL thought what he
thought. Maybe he was 100% right about what he thought. Who cares. I
don't care.

They are mindless drones, but they don't think they are. Or, they mistake
almost 10 years of weekly violence, daily violence, brutality, terror and
what not - (what a Jew called "like Buchenwald") with some stupid one-time
act of a stab in the arm. Oh, how they really do not want to know what I
experienced - they'd all join the KKK if they experienced 1/10th of what I
and others close experienced - I'd bet my life they would. They are not
street people. They are, by all estimations, pampered little white folks
who are so brainwashed by Frankfurt School PC bullshit that they really DO
need to take that pill and wake up from the Matrix. Hell, that's what Dr.
Steinlight is betting Jewish organizations to do - WAKE UP - and what he has
to say about what's going on boggles the mind - regarding the Islamists in
western countries. PHEW.

gonna say ANYTHING to stop the pain.

LOL, we are on the same page. You must be older, like me. I worked in a
med school, some of what I saw crawling into emergency rooms at one specific
period of time would chill the blood of a soldier - and make these wussies
on here FAINT. Like the time they made the honky into roast chicken.
BECAUSE he was a honky, a grafted snake to be more precise. Like the time 2
blocks from home, I passed 4 severed heads on the way to the bus. And a
whole lot of other atrocity identical to what Nazis did to Jews.
IDENTICAL - so identical that a Jew that experienced it SAID it was the
same. So much for that.

Sure, I no longer live in a place like that - and where I do live better not
BECOME like that. I doubt it will - I live in a RED state. Just what is
it that these "one time I had one experience" bozos don't understand about a
full scale riot - RACE war they called it, where blacks targeted 1st Jews
and then other people that just weren't black (some not quite white, either)
and did what they did proclaiming it was DUE TO race. They did this to
people of many ethnic groups and Jews who were totally on their side during
the civil rights era. And it didn't stop with the riot. It continued, a
city of terror. Every day, every week - it was ubiquitous, everpresent.
What is it they fail to grasp. Oh, right, they don't want to fathom it.

I notice that the same people have NO problem trashing Deep Ones for doing
the same freaking thing to the resistors of Innsmouth. HA!!! I really have
to LAUGH at that. And I don't want to hear any shit about "oh, but they
weren't human." If they can breed with us, then they have to be the same
species. Period.

It's like that gay guy in that European country where gay is 100% ok - he
gets murdered by Islamists - and oh, the rest of the nation there is too
freaking politically correct to chastise the Moslems for murdering the guy -
and they killed him because he was gay. Tomorrow is coming. It doesn't
look too good. PC will be forced to fly down the toilet where it belonged
from the start. People will HAVE to take sides - and there will be war.
Tomorrow. I wonder if there'll be any MEN left (figuratively speaking).

Steinlight.

There was also a large church across the
street. It was about 10am.

The kid ran off, and while I could see in the direction where he went, I didn't know

where I was going. I walked into the coffee shop, with my hand pressed over my knife
wound, and said in a very loud voice, "Would someone call the police and an ambulance;

I was badly shaken up emotionally by the entire thing for some weeks. Though I went back
to the work a few days later AND I went back to that same Laundromat slightly over a week

later, though I had to drive the short distance to it with my laundry in my car, because
I could not carry it that far.

I'm not like several of the people posting in this thread.

That is insane. That is prejudice, as blackwingbear says; idiotic, stupid, vile,
corrupted thinking. That is bigotry, racism, sexism, and ageism.

I was attacked by ONE PERSON, one *individual* -- NOT by *all* men, not by *all*
teenagers, not by *all* black people. Why should I hate them *ALL* because one male,

I feel sorry for those who are too narrow-minded or bigoted to see
anything interesting in this material. How often to we get a
chance to communicate with someone who knows anything about the
Left Hand Path? Not very damned often, let me tell you, although
there are many posers who claim to dark knowledge of forbidden topics.

This material is a gold mine for any writer working in the Mythos.
It gives insight into what the cults of Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep,
Shub-Niggurath or Dagon might have been like, at least thematically.

It's too bad so many people are so prejudiced against new ideas,
and so bigoted against the Left Hand Path. Their narrow minds will
never allow them to see those who follow these paths as equal
human beings. No, they dismiss them as inferior or subhuman.

Heh - that's ok - the main brunt of the beef is that I had to open my heh,
BIG mouth and let feelings well up from way back from the late 60s - when I
lived in a hellish neighborhood and there was really no way out at the time.
Be as it may, fancy Franky giving me the "Anita Bryant" treatment - and
cross posting the same god damned convo no less (HA) - that fucking
sniveling little hypocrite! He never seems to quite grasp that shit like
that can seriously backfire.

I experienced what I experienced - and oddly enough, TELLING IT to blacks
that I've met much later than that, never seemed to bother them. They said
"I HEAR you." They understood. Of course, they were NOT like that - but
they knew damned well what I was talking about (the HOOD). Cosby said it.
Williams said it. They are both black and they said it. That Jamaican
newsguy said it. And it's no big deal.

Hummel is an idiot. Not just your average run of the mill idiot,
either, but an idiot of the first water, a prince among idiots, a
shining example to all idiots everywhere.

Many people in America are afraid to acknowledge a few basic
truths that most of them know. I'm not sure what they are afraid
of -- but I believe it is that the open acknowledgment of these
truths will bring the fragile house of cards that has been erected
on half-truths and lies crashing down around their ears.

One is that blacks are a burden on the communities in which they
live, and degrade the quality of life in those communities. That's
the truth. That's why whites and everyone else does their best to
get out of black communities as quickly as possible. No one can
deny it -- any white family with money shuns black neighborhoods.
They wouldn't dream of buying a house in a black neighborhood. Yet
many of them are such hypocrites that they would refuse to admit
it, even if you held their little lily white feet to a fire.

You stated a few truths. Hummel, with the mindless instinct of his
kind, immediately went for your throat. He didn't have to think.
Indeed, he is constitutionally incapable of thought. He reacted in
the same way a guard dog will bark when it hears a footfall in the
darkness. Woof! Woof! Woof! And that is the sum content of his words.

So it's just coincidence that you and Tani have both posted messages to over
