Flashing Red Light

I approached my new Honda Fit from the rear a few nights ago.
As I walked up behind it, I could see that there was a red
light flashing on and off on the dash. I tried to figure out what it
was but it went away as soon as I unlocked and opened the door.

Any ideas?

The flashing light indicates that the security system is armed. When
you unlocked he door with the fob or the key, the system disarmed.

Try locking it with the window open. Then reach in and unlock it from
the inside. The horn will start honking and the lights will flash
when you open the door. It will scare the cr@p outta you.
