A reasonable quality paint will probably set you back around $20 a
gallon. A gallon will cover about 200-250 square feet, depending on
how the paint. Add up the square feet of all your walls (the
length*height of each wall, added together) to figure out how many
gallons you'll need. Add two gallons for wastage/future patch work. If
you are covering up a different color, you will need to first use
primer (unless the original color is white), primer is cheaper and
thicker than paint (you would need at least two coats of most paints
to cover up another color). Then add in the costs of rollers, paint
brushes (for trim), masking tape, craft paper (to cover up windows and
such), drop clothes (you can use newspapers and flattened old
cardboard boxes for this, if you're careful), etc. to see how much
it'll cost you.
