Absolutely! There are no rules in faux painting. I took a course in the
various techniques, and have done much in my own home. If you want a
lighter look, then light on dark. A more dramatic feel is obtained by
the dark on light. A great look can be achieved by lightly sponging a
third color, perhaps silver, before the mauve is applied. The best
results come from "playing" -- being relaxed and having fun. Practice on
newspapers to get yourself ready . . . and enjoy!
