I've been told Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace is a good subwoofer test
(assuming your using a DVD for the source audio).

For you any idiot that thinks they need to put your 2cents in about how
good/bad SW:TPM is... This is a recommendation speaking strictly for
testing of his new subwoofer, I am not commenting on whether the movie is
good or bad or otherwise.

That's a good one for shaking the house...

Also:
The Lord of the Rings
U-571
Das Boot
Armageddon
Fast and the Furious
Minority Report

as the last poster said - I make no claims regarding the quality of the
movie ;-)

Fight Club
Jurassic Park
Saving Private Ryan
Gone in 60 Seconds

And unlike the other 2 responders I'm willing to say that these movies are
great. Anyone who feels the need to respond in disagreement with me can go
fuck themselves. Its a shame that people cool people like seascape and
Shrival have to post disclamers at the end of their response on this board.

"The Haunting" Movie sucks, but some awful low frequencies.
Also - "The Rock" - a very good movie - Not VERY low
frequencies but some solid bass. Enjoy!

U-571 is BOTH an excellent movie and a good sub/speaker test.

My friends and I live by the "Spaceships and Explosions" theory. If the
movie has Spaceships or Explosions in it, it will be a great movie to crank
the sound/sub on. If you have both Spaceships AND explosions, well then you
are in for a treat.

As silly as this sounds and humoristic as it is to read.. I tend to agree..
lol! Although, Cut Throat Island does have some good bassy ship to ship
canon fire in it.

Lord of the Rings - there's a couple of really great sub bits in there.
One is right at the beginning when Sauron gets maimed, and the other is
later in Moria when the big stone steps fall over.
Awesome!
