There are three extant sallets (a type of fifteenth century helmet) in the
UK.

at least two have German armourers marks and the other is inaccessible,
high up on a church wall somewhere.

These helmets are sometimes used as proof that there was no manufacture of
pieces of plate armour until HenryVIII started the armouries at Greenwich.

Does anyone know if there are any earlier bits of British plate armour
about?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.
