Good morning Bri and all.
We have a very wet morning and it is forecast to stay damp and misty for
quite a while brightening-up later on.
It is 12C(54F) at the moment rising as the day goes on with a 7 mph NW
wind.Same temps. again I see.

I am going on the Tesco bus but only getting light things (I have learnt my
lesson re. carrying too much)!!
Hopefully a quiet day after that.

Enjoy your day.

The forecast is for cloud for most of the day and cloud and sunshine from

Good morning Bri, a dry, slightly misty start today. From the forecast
we shall have some of everything today. Low cloud and mist followed by
warm sunshine, scattered thundery showers developing with some of hail
and the risk of "intense downpours" causing flooding - the only things
missing are the May flowers! It is warm with the temperature at 16.3C
(61.3F), RH 91% and pressure 1022 millibars.

I'm expecting the plumber after 4.30 this afternoon to replace the
piping to the outside tap which is leaking.

Have a good day yourself. :-)

Good morning Jackie. Your morning forecast is similar to ours, this
afternoon will be unpleasant if the Met office is correct. We're
actually warmer than you this morning at 16.4C and it is very humid.

I hope your shopping trip is successful and you manage without any
problems.

I hope you have a good day. :-)

Good morning Froggie, it is warm here at 61.7F here and feeling very
humid. We're promised thunder, heavy showers of rain or hail later with
the threat of flooding. We were forecast the same yesterday but it
stayed mainly dry for the afternoon so we shall see.

I hope you have a good day too. :-)

Good morning Bernadette - It is not at all nice - surprising you being
warmer than us down south,
funny old weather.

I will only get very light shopping this morning from Tesco. Joan is keeping
a low profile today as she has to start medication for her procedure
tomorrow!!

Lets hope this weather soon starts to improve it is getting quite
depressing.

Have a good day and take it easy.

Just for you I have run Windows Live Mail and firstly I must say what an
abomination of a program it is, how on earth you use it is beyond me.
Anyway back to your question,
In the pane with all the messages in click on the top bar marked "Sent"
that will sort the posts in date order top to bottom (if you click it again
it will sort them in reverse date order "latest at the top")

On the "View" tab at the top if you have conversation highlighted it sorts
them into each individual thread (click the little arrow to expand the
thread and see all the posts in it), also on the "View" tab if you click on
"Filter Messages" you can select either all messages or get it to only show
new messages.

From what I have seen doing this test I strongly urge you to try a proper
newsreader such as 40Tude Dialog which both Bri and I use (so there is no
shortage of help available) it is by far a better option.

Mornin' from a warm, dry, dull, overcast and muggy feeling Monday. No
sign of Walter or BYT yet today with air temperature at 14.0ºC (57.2ºF),
barometric pressure steady at 1013 mB and relative humidity registering
as 83%. WW reckons it's 13.9ºC, 1013.2 mB and 92% in Sheffield.
Forecast is for mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of wet stuff this
morning and showers (30% chance thereof) from 15:00 with temperature to
peak at 18.3ºC (64.9ºF) late afternoon around tea time.
Have a good day one and all.

Me too, I use Acronis to back up both my files and create a disc image but
have wondered in the past if the whole machine went belly up would the
backups be any good with a different machine, it seems by his comments they
might not :-(

I take it then that you might not be "up there" in this months stats? ;-)

I just followed screen instruction (to create recovery disc),
Reinstalling involved just booting up with disc in drive and pressing enter

Hey, Jackie, it's clouding over here now but the temp: out there is

I'm on your side about news readers but I can honestly say I have

Good evening Jackie, we reached a high of 22C (71.6F) this afternoon and
although it has remained misty it has been hot and humid. A couple of
times the sky has turned almost black but apart from a few spots of rain
it has stayed dry. It is very odd weather!

We had a beach walk today but even Dan wasn't very energetic in this
heat and seemed glad to get home. The plumber has almost finished fixing
the tap for me and it does look a lot better than the old arrangement,
more solid. :-)

I hope Joan gets on well with her meds and that all goes well for her
tomorrow. I hope you enjoy your evening and that the weather improves
for you.

Flying Nun's problem arises because Nettie doesn't have a CD/DVD optical
drive.

Was that booting up with the new HD and no OS installed then, or did
you install an OS first? Trouble with mine is that it just wouldn't
boot up at all, woith or without the recovery USB in place. Perhaps
with a new HD it will. The Macrium backup mirror is on a portable usb
500GB HD, but I also have the backup mirror for my desktop pooter on
that as well so presumably I then plug that in, but without an OS how
will I be able to select the correct mirror file to use?

Replaced drive, inserted recovery disc, pressed enter. Done.

The recovery disc contained the OS.

In your case USB drive would replace cd.

Indeed but USB flash drive will do the same thing.

Just checked that Macrium Rescue file on the usb flash memory and it's
12.8 Mb big. Is that enough to contain the OS (Should be XP Home
Edition I would think)

I would think that file will give you the ability to install the backup
image, at 12.8 mb I wouldn't think that contained the operating system.

My recovery disc has 274MB but is for windows 7.
I'm not sure if you will have O/S on yours.

That's what I thought too, so I'm just hoping that you're both correct
and when I get Nettie back with her new sooper dooper drive that it
works fine for me, thus saving hours of toil and turmoil downloading
and re-installing everything I want. But the, you all know what *my*

I would have been surprised too, but perhaps, as you suggest, there's
enough in there to get the backup mirror installion started.
