Good morning Bri and all. A very cloudy morning so far at 9C(48F) with a 5
mph W wind.
We seem to have had this temp. for a few days now. Forecast cloudy with some
sunshine.

Off to the hairdressers this morning, going to take longer today as getting
it done ready for my holiday.

Have a lovely time at your meal out later.

Good morning Bri,
A thoroughly wet and overcast start here at,
47.3F (8.5C) with a 1.4 mph wind, a pressure of 995.8 mb (local) 1001.8
mb (sea level) and a humidity of 96%

So far we have had over half an inch of rain (13.4 mm) and it's still
coming down.

Good morning Jackie,
The temperature has remained reasonably stable here for a few days too.

Don't forget to take your brolly, we don't want you getting it wet when

Good morning Bri, good morning all.
A dull start here too with a wet day forecast although the rain hasn't
arrived yet. The temperature is 13.4C (56.1F) so is still mild, RH is
83% and pressure 1016 millibars.

Off out in a short while s will catch up later.

Have a good day everybody. :-)

It's quite miserable here but according to the met office we are to get
some respite from the rain around 13:00 for a couple of hours.

Mornin' from a dry, mild, overcast and dull South Yorkshire. No BYT or
any blue as yet and not looking too promising. Air temperature out
there is 9.0ソスC (48.2ソスF), barometric pressure falling again at 1006 mB
and relative humidity registering as 80%. WW reckons it is 9.4ソスC,
1006.1 mB and 87% in Sheffield. Forecast is for cloudy all day with a
20% chance of any wet stuff and temperature to rise slowly to 10.6ソスC
(51.1ソスF) by tea time.
Have a good day one and all.
Calamitous start her though. Nettie is refusing to boot up and all I'm
getting is the following error message. White text on black background.

'Intel UNDI. PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Realtek RTL8101E/8102E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v1.06 (080222)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM

Boot Failure
Press any key to continue.'

Haven't a clue what it's trying to tell me but there isn't any cable to
check and pressing any key has no effect whatsoever. All I seem to be
able to do is switch off power using the on/off button and run set up or
Boot menu using the Del or F11 keys. But nothing I do in those has any
effect. Has anyone any suggestions as to what I can try next? Nettie
is an Advent 4211C Netbook and has no DVD/CD or floppy drive. I have
been religiously creating weekly backups on an external Toshiba drive
(500GB) using Macrium, but that seems all a waste of time if the damn
m/c won't boot up at all. I feel like my right arm has been
amputated.. :( .

I have just done a search with those details and it isn't looking good so
far, I have found this on the Toshiba forums,

Luis, those PXE message during boot mean that the BIOS cannot locate a
network to boot from.

Since the network boot is normally the lowest priority, that almost always
indicates an inability to boot from the hard drive, usually because it has
died.

Just found this about Advent 4211C
<quote>
Running System Recovery from outside of Windows

When the PC starts you will see a menu for two seconds. Press the UP or
DOWN arrow and this will pause the menu and allow you to choose an option.
Highlight The TechGuys Recovery and press the Enter key.
This will load into the recovery program.
Select Reinstall Windows by clicking on the circle to the left.
Click the right arrow.
Put a tick in the box next to Start Full Destructive Recovery.
Click the right arrow to start Recovery.
When Recovery has completed, click the right arrow to restart the system.
Your computer will then return you to its initial out-of-box experience.

I'm afraid I know all about that Joe and did use it successfully some
considerable time (I'm talking a few years) ago. Unfortunately that
menu just isn't appearing this time. All you get is a flashing hyphen
at the top LH corner of the screen. After a few minutes the error
message I described above appears, so I don't get the option to select
the TechGuys recovery facility. I earlier made a Macrium recovery file
on a usb hard drive, but when I run boot options and select boot from
usb hard drive all I get after a few minutes is the brief message '
Missing operating system' :(

Good afternoon Bri - All glamed up now - just got to concentrate on getting
things ready for my forthcoming holiday. One daughter arriving then other
daughter and grandson arriving on different dates getting it all organised.
Youngest daughter and grandson will be cat sitting for me. Fortunately it is
a half-term holiday from grandsons school so this will be a holiday for
them.

It has been a fairly nice day today just light cloud with little wind, no
wet stuff.

Enjoy your family evening.

Good evening Jackie, it seems as though you have the dates sorted and
everything is coming together nicely. It should be a nice change of
