Dunlop Crybaby Classic ---> Keely Fuzz Head ----> Dunlop Uni-vibe.
I'm thinking about adding a compressor and maybe a flanger later :-)
Of course I can't go to the store and test them because they don't carry
them. I did check YouTube for examples and these are the ones I liked. I own
a variety of amps and guitars. I'm moderately experienced. Play classic
rock: Hendrix, Cream, Black Sabbath etc.... I've always loved the rotating
speaker sound and dreamed of owning a uni-vibe.

I don't know anything about the Keely (other than they have a good
rep). The other two are good, I prefer Vox wahs...though I have a
Dimebag Dunlop and that is very good imho. I'm going to sell my Budda
Zen drive if interested. really great sounding to me, not a metal
type, but the best sustain I've ever heard in a pedal. I'd describe it
as super creamy overdrive if that makes any sense. I recently bought a
Spider Valve and am not currently using any outboard pedals.

As far as the wah goes. I picked up an Ibanez Weeping Demon about a week ago
and I gotta tell ya man it's the best wah I've ever owned. Great physical
sweep range, tweakable to the hilt and no audible tone suck at all. I've
owned the classic Dunlop CB, Vox, Morley, Boss PW10, and none even come
close. Sturdy as all hell too. Very affordable to boot. Got mine for 60 bux
used.
Demo one if you can and I bet you wont be disappointed.
GC has 2...I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks
There are two small knobs under the footpedal itself, not under the pedal.
Make sure to play with those too. I like mine maxed out but it's all taste I
guess.
There is only one little thing I don't like about it. It doesn't have the
standard "toe down" switch. It's got either an auto mode where it engages
when you use it or a seperate small footswitch to turn it on. I'm not sure
what they were thinking there because there is a slight lag when it's in
auto mode to engage and disengage and if using it slowly in auto mode it
will sometimes think you arent using it and disengage. Definitely give it a
try.
Wah wah pedals are such an individual thing. I had a Dunlop cry baby for
years that never really satisfied. Then moved to a vox which was ok. But
about six months ago I finally got a Bonnie Arteffect classic. Its the
goods for me.
I have this compressor and I really dig it.

Im looking at decommissioning my original Ibanez WH-10 and putting to
work the WH-10V2. The reissue is made from all the same internals but
this time they made the housing from die cast metal.

Mmmmmmmmm
Well I demo'ed the Weeping Demon and the Fulltone Clyde. Straight into a
Hotrod Deluxe
I was noodling <?> some Hendrix stuff, and to be honest, I couldn't tell
much difference and I was thinking "The demon is $150 less!!" Then I hit the
Hendrix chord and the difference was noticeable. The Fulltone lives up to
the hype. Beautiful ...clear and very "full" tone wise.
I should have fiddled with all the knobs on the Demon but that's another
thing I liked about the Fulltone. On the Demon I had all the tone lock knobs
at 12:00 and I turned the two knobs under the peddle to max.
No doubt about it though, the Demon is a good pedal for the money. The sweep
is very smooth and has a great feel. I'd get the Demon over a Crybaby.
Now I get to see how the wife reacts.
Congrats! New toys are what makes life funner! :-)
Thanks...I was brushing off my Electric Funeral and it is fun. Now for all
those old Hendrix and Cream songs I haven't played in years.
I ended up with a MI Audio Tube Zone instead of the Keeley Fuzz Head. Much
more versatile. The Tube Zone does an all-out "Fuzz" better than the Fuzz
Head. Which I thought was kinda strange, going by the name.
Now I've only got the Uni-vibe left.
I was thinking maybe I made the wrong choice on the wah but I was warned
about the Fulltone's broad sweep. I find myself in the lower end of the
pedal as opposed to maxing it out. I can see why some people prefer the
narrower sweep. I think Ibanez was really smart putting in that side on/off
switch.
Compare UniVibe to the Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere.
The Rotosphere acts like a Leslie. When you change speeds, or turn the
rotation off, you can here the different speeds for drum and rotor
changing just like a real Leslie would.
It's also tube driven, and mimics the tube distortion from a vintage Leslie.
I will if I can find one.
So far I've got the Fuzz and the Wah
MI Audio"Tube Zone"-----Fulltone "Clyde" Dlx wah-----(Fender HRDlx) talk
about nail voodoo chili. Just need the UV. :-)
The only Vibe I've seen is a Keeley. After my experience with Keeley I'm not
too anxious to jump in.
The MI Tube Zone is "da bomb" for fuzzy heads. No need to double anything
with this thing. It's like 2 fuzz bombs tied together on full od. Fuzzy
creamy. (^_^)
I like fuzz once in awhile myself but I get a decent fuzz tone just by
switching to my neck pickup when my Bad Monkey is engaged. Not very
versatile though.

This is a good pedal as well.

I hope it comes in a plain brown paper bag.

I was planning to check out VooDoo Lab. I had a Sparkle drive and it lives
up to the hype.
Thanks

Correction...I saw a "Fulltone" Mini Deja Vibe. Not a "Keeley". I'll
definitely check it out. I'd like to demo it against the reissue Dunlop
Uni-vibe

I also thought about the Uni-Vibe but the sheer number of people complaining
about the unreliability of it on Harmony-Central and the price of the unit
made me think twice. I know that Harmony-Central may be anything but
reliable, but there were just so many with the same story.
Fulltone - MDV or MDV-2...with leanings toward the MDV-2 these days...

I know what you mean...That's how I look at it too. But I only see reviews
for the "Stereo" Uni-Vibe. That one is considerably cheaper. It's a chorus
vibe only I think.
Yeah...just looked at the demo...

I like the speed pedal but I could get by without it too.
Oh...I found it...Thanks
I have a stereo MDV, and if I were buying again (which I may for another
rig - an MDV-2 to have a different one) I wouldn't buy the stereo one.
I thought I was going to use it in stereo mode with two amps, but after
I got things set up I decided I only wanted it coming out of one
side...oh, well...
I always liked the Doyle Bramhall pointers for the MDV; part 2 gets into
it a little quicker -
