That's cool of you to share your band gig videos.
Personally I like straight up rock. Gimme a few chords
and away I go. And so did you guys. sounded like a fun time.
I respect ANY band that gets out there and plays.
thanks for sharing.
just an aside question --
was that your PA system or supplied by the house/venue ?

The P.A. was provided by the house..... not that our P.A. is much
smaller :)
But yes, we are just a straight-ahead hard rock band.. Loud guitars,
80's era vocals, hard hitting drummer.... There is always someone
better than you in the audience, so I stopped obsessing about
technical mastery years ago :)
I found that if the band is having fun, and you sound good - they will
have fun, too.

You didn't really think you could knock two of the best selling rock guitarist in history, in a guitar group, and not expect to ruffle some feathers did you? Page and Clapton are both living legends. There isn't a player in here that hasn't tried to copy their riffs. Sure, the longer they stay around the more likely they are to "throw-up" on themselves but they still have a FANTASTIC body of work to fall back on. Neither one is "god" but they got as close to being a "rock guitar god" as is humanly possible.
Going to listen to "Disraeli Gears" for the billionth time.

Yup, overrrated living
legends.

Not true.

There are dozens of better

Europe -- Clapton himself
has said as much.

Pretty danged good LP --

When that one and "Blind
Faith" are still your
career highlights 40+
years later, I don't
think words like
"overrated" are out of
line. Ymmv.

Britney Spears wasn't that bad. Not Janis Joplin but she had her audience. It's what young people like and we'll see if she stands up over the decades. I doubt it.

Some people really like McDonald's. I don't, but I like a HOT Big Mac occasionally. They can be delicious.

I think the word "overrated" is overrated. The guy was great. Sold out concert halls all over the world. Still draws a crowd. His hits spanned decades. They still use his music in movie scores. I really don't know what he'd have to do to impress you but it works for me. His music still moves me. My wife just bought "Me and Mr Johnson" for me. Great album. Clapton is one of the more universally liked guitarist.

I will bet that Billie Holiday will
be remembered long after Spears is
completely forgotten.
you can't go on record sales because
the accounting was overhauled in
1991.
