Well . . . it seems that summertime has unofficially arrived in
Phoenix, AZ. 108°F yesterday and more of the same forecast for
today. It's a bit early in the season to be quite this warm. I'm
back in town to tidy up a couple business deals and then it's back up
the hill for some more reasonable temps. Here's a blast from the past
that always reminds me of summer. 42 years gone and 30 million copies
sold and it's still running strong. Everyone get out and enjoy the
sunshine.

yeah .. but it's a dry heat ...

I was in P years ago in August .. 120f.. by 10 AM.
My poor truck ran "hot" the entire time .. FULL AC never
made a dent in the inside temperature once it got
beyond the non-sweat point on my forehead .

Now I live in Tx, so I know *hot* weather, but P is
in a class all by itself. It is more like Mercury - the Planet.

It's been beautiful in Central TX so far but it's getting hotter
everyday. Another summer like last year and I'm moving..... anywhere.

=====================================

Large areas of the Southwest have the potential for sweltering
summertime temps. One of the most miserable afternoons of my life
(weather-wise) was spent in downtown Dallas after a brief rain
shower. I swear that you could see the steam rising from the
pavement. Sunset came as a welcomed relief, but not very much of
one. I just can't take high humidity combined with high temps very
well anymore. I've got an intense dislike for summertime in
Louisiana. I used to spend weeks at a time at my aunt's house back up
in the bayou country when I was a kid. Hell, there's mosquitoes in
those swamps that could carrying off a full grown duck . . . no
problem.
