Carvin's got some really good gear. For some reason
they have stayed low volume mail order ... I think
the demise of the hair bands have taken their toll
on them too .
WOW that is some great price. I have wanted one of those for a long
time. How is the weight on that guitar? Is it a trem model, which
trem...and how is it? Good luck with it.

The weight isn't bad I'm guessing about 7 lbs. It has a Wilkinson Trem with
Sperzel locking tuners. The trem is blocked with a rock right now and I may
leave it like that as I'm not really a whammy bar type of player.
I did a quick set up and string change and the thing already plays like
butter. Can't wait to sit down and really tweak her out.
Here's a few pics. Under the fluorescent light I did find a few blemishes
but definitely nothing major.

Man! That's a hell of a nice quilt. The body is worth $300.
I've only heard great things about Carvin.
Score!
SCORE! Mighty fine!

Beautiful. That's gotta be the score of the week (maybe month)...I've
had my own scores over the years, but it's been a few months since.

Thanks yeah I am pretty proud of it so far. The neck really reminds me of a
Wizard II. Wide and flat but I like that because it's now my only axe with
that type of neck and I love having choices.
Definitely a high quality instrument. The bridge HB is a little ice picky
compared to what I'm used to but nothing a SD Bridge Invader wont fix. :-)

It looks nice. I'd never be able to play a guitar like that, though - I
get RSI if I play with that sort of neck. That's one of the reasons I
sold my Jackson Rhodes Flying V. The quality looks good.
I wish I knew for sure Jim. I am pretty sure that each one is
dedicated to its own HB. I think the one for the neck is a coil split
and the other one is a coil tap because when I flip the one I think is
for the neck I get more of a single coil sound and when I flip the
other one it has a fuller less brittle sound.
Thanks. I remember the DK2 I had. What I didn't like about it was the
FR trem. I've sold every guitar I've ever had that sported a FR. I
must have spent 300 dollars the first 2 years I had it just in tech
bills trying to get it to stay in tune like it was supposed to. All
three people I used were perplexed as to why it wouldn't stay in tune.
I lost money on that one.
Learned a lesson from it too because I bought it off of e-bay and I
usually detest buying guitars that I can't try first if it's an
investment more than a couple hundred bux.
