Well, it's better than mine, but, I was always partial to the version

I've been kicking around this guy's "Strawberry Fields" arrangement
for ukulele lately. It's fun and the kids all seem to like it. Even
if they don't know what the hell the song is, or what it's all about.

I like his use of chords but I did't care for the tone so much I didn't
get through it. Clean it up and I'd probably like it a lot more.

That was perfect. I've always liked Timmons way more than those he
usually gets lumped in with (Satriani and the shredder crew). This
clip shows why--there's taste and placement there. He did his thing,
but stayed within the song. (Or within a couple songs, as Walrus was
in there too)

BTW, George Martin said that one of his most memorable moments with
the Beatles is when John first wrote Strawberry Fields and played it
solo with acoustic guitar. I'd love to be able to see how it evolved
from there.

One change that I know about: The opening line was originally played
where a normal chorus would be. The tune began with "Living is easy
with eyes closed." I believe one of the other Beatles (Paul?)
suggested playing "Let me take you down..." as the opening line. Hard
to imagine it any other way now.

Another interesting bit: Strawberry Fields was released as a single
with Penny Lane on the flip side. I'd argue that was the best ever
Beatles single, and I can't think of a better single, period. But it
was one of the very few Beatles releases that didn't make it to #1. It
was edged out by Engelbert Humperdinck's "Release Me." Gack! I think
that when accounting for sales, record stores split the tally between
Strawberry and Penny Lane. They weren't tallied together.
