No doubt this subject has been flogged to death, but I've not been
here for many yrs. OTOH, I know this to be a knowledgeable group.

I had to sell almost everthing I owned when I moved to take care of my
ailing mom. Strats, Mesa's, etc, all gone!! I got one acoustic, one
electric, and an orig pignose. Still, I need a silent option for my
beloved Aria Pro.

I've cruised the web fer several options, but see too many negative
reviews for almost everything. C'mon! 30 yrs after that old Rockman,
someone has to have come up with something worth a damn! I jes want
something to give me a basic blues w/ a bit o' reverb sound.

Anything that I won't be returning for repair in a week, out there?

I was using my Line 6 Pocket Pod about 30 minutes ago - nice springy reverb
sounds, among other things. Fine for headphones.

Check out the Vox amplug series.. there's one in there that does a reverb,
runs on batteries too..

I've seen those and been curious. Which version does reverb?

First, all the best to your mom. People like you got all my respect.

Second, do not buy Waves iGTR. Sound is about ok but the gizmo has contact
issues and it sometimes goes berzek (i.e. very VERY loud hiss hurting my
ears until I turn it off and on again).

Vox amPlug sound nice but the reverb is often seen as an issue.

Most digital multiFX have a headphone socket. I recently got a Pandora PX4.
Very compact and a lot of fun, but a bit more expensive than a simple
headphone amp.

Get yourself a POD (even the smallest one will do) and a "cheap but
good" set of circumnaural headphones, such as the JVC model HA-RX900

I see that Boss Micro BR and have considered going that high in the $$
dept, but don't really need the multi-everything-else. With audacity
on my 'puter and a Sony digi recorder (mp3), I got most of what I
need. I jes want a silent practice amp I can rock out on and not
bother mom. The fiddle I jes got is gonna be annoying enough! ;)

POD Xt is great, I'm sure the cheaper one's would work great for what
you have in mind...get a used one cheap.

I've had the AC30 model for over a year now...no problems, but also no
reverb. You'll need single coils to get a clean sound out of it...with
humbuckers it's crunchy to one degree or another.
