To whom it may concern,
I am sending this fax/email to express my anger and disapproval
over EMI's legal threats against the University of Nevada and the
On-Line Guitar Archive, (OLGA) and assert that these tactics
are not in EMI's best interest.
I also wish to express my support for OLGA by participating in the
boycott of *all* EMI products until this matter is resolved.
THE ON-LINE-GUITAR-ARCHIVES INCREASE
SALES OF MUSIC PRODUCTS BY GENERATING INTEREST IN
ARTISTS AND THEIR MUSIC!
The files within OLGA are transcribed by ear, and are used for
educational, non-profit, and non-professional purposes. Use in
this manner is protected under copyright law.
The threatened action and resultant closing of the archive brands EMI
as an organization that resorts to bullying and scare
tactics to hinder free speech, and is ignorant of and hostile to the
culture and community of the internet.
I will vote with my wallet--and I will encourage others
to do the same.
