There was a documentary last weekend on this song on the Dutch television.

As far as I know, the Strange Fruits was a fictitious band that was the
subject of a movie, called Still Crazy, several years ago.

The only one of their songs that I have is called The Flame Still Burns.
This version is not complete, but enjoy what there is of it.
====================
The Flame Still Burns
Strange Fruit (from the Still Crazy O.S.T.)

By Mick Jones (from Foreigner), Marti Fredericksen, Chris Difford

Really strong ballad, and lead theme from the movie Still Crazy.
It´s sung by British (?) actor/singer Jimmy Nails (lead vocal) and
British actor <Something> Nighy.

Intro:

A | E | Hm | A E |
A | E | Hm | A E |

A D A
I live a life that's surreal
D A E
Where all that I feel I am learning
A D A
For life has been turned on the lathe
D A E
Reshaped with a flame that's still burning

F#m E A
And in time, it's all a sweet mystery
D A E
When you shake the tree of temptation
F#m E A
Yeah, and I, I know the fear and the cost
D A E
Of a paradise lost in frustration

A E
And the flame still burns
Bm A E
It's there in my soul for that unfinished goal
A E
And the flame still burns
Bm A E
From a glimmer of then, it lights up again
D
In my life
In my life, yeah

Bridge/Solo:

A | E | Hm | A E |
A | E | Hm | A E |

A D A
I, I want my thoughts to be heard
D A E
The unspoken words of my wisdom
A D A
Today, as the light starts to flow
D A E
Tomorrow who knows who will listen

F#m E A
But my life has no language of love
D A E
No word from above is appearing
F#m E A
Or the time, and time is a fire that's stoked
D A E
with the reason of hope and believing

A E
And the flame still burns
Bm A E
Yeah, it's there in my soul for that unfinished goal
A E
And the flame still burns
Bm A E
From a glimmer of then, it lights up again
D A
In my life

Bridge/Solo:
E | Hm | A E |
A | E | Hm | A E |

[Havent figured out the part below, mainly because I dont like it, so
just
leave it out will ya?]

Keep a rollin', keep that flame still burnin'
Keep a rollin', while the world keeps turnin'
Yeah, keep a rollin'
Yeah, keep a rollin'

[Same chords as before]

And the flame still burns
It's there in my soul for that unfinished goal
And the flame still burns
From a glimmer of then, it lights up again

And the flame still burns
Yeah, it's there in my soul for that unfinished goal
And the flame still burns
From a glimmer of then, it lights up again
In my life, in my life.

[Also in the end here the song starts to flip out, so just cut it here]

Cheers

Oops. I've been playing it as a Bm.

I don't think this actually applies here, but a Hm comprises the notes
H-D-F#. In German notation, a B mean B flat, and an H means B natural.

For instance, Bach's "Messe im H moll", which we would normall call his
"Mass in B minor".

Years ago I played in a punk band and would tell people that one of the
chords I was playing was an H chord, beyond the musical scale

Dear all,

thanx for the replies. However, I was looking for the song "Strange fruit"
sung by Billie Holliday. The song is about the lynching-parties.

You asked for it. Here's my best take on it, trying to work it out on
keyboard
[which I don't really play] to get the sound. I left out the horn intro and
started
with the piano intro. Everything's complete from there. There seem to be a
lot
of minor 6ths. When I got stumped, I'd often try a few minor 6ths and that
often
worked. Feel free to post corrections.
