I'm thining of buying the above referenced guitar. The solid tonewoods and AURA sound
system look attactive. My only question is the Micarta fretboard and bridge. I read mixed
reviews about these apparent "non-wood" parts.
Does anyone have "first-hand" experience with the Micarta parts?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

a friend has a 000-16GT built 2000 with "real wood" bridge (and fretboard,
as far as I know). My 000-16SGT is from 2004 with micarta.

If I didn't read about the change of material in some guitarrist forum, I
wouldn't know about it. The guitars sound slightly different, but that's
because they are different (14- vs. 12-fret). But I can't feel or hear any
disadvantage from micarta.

My personal opinion: If you like the sound (and you certainly will!) of the
guitar, then get it.

Best regards,
 Juergen

Are you sure you're not referring to the OOOC-16RGTE Aura? Not F?
